The home is a quiet, special gem at the foot of the Alps. Hosts Vincent and Judith are very welcoming, open and inviting you into the experience of managing a unique retreat center as part of a small team -- helping in the kitchen, preparing meals, cleaning the villa for retreat guests. The work is clearly assigned and explained to each volunteer. Vincent and Judith are extremely patient, encouraging interesting conversations over delicious vegetarian meals. Volunteers enjoy private rooms, fun movie nights and beautiful walks in nature. I was so sorry to have to leave early.

Villa d’Arzelier became my second home for a month and a half, and the connection that I had with the place and the people were something I will never forget. The atmosphere is incredible and the rooms are super comfy. I would totally love to come back 🥰. The food was also amazing thanks to the chef Cornelia ☺️. Judith and Vincent were super kind hosts, and I had the amazing opportunity to practice my french and see the most amazing natural views of my life. I also met incredible volunteers that made my stay super fun. I'm very grateful for everything I was able to live here 🥰

This was my first time as a Worldpacker, and I couldn't have hoped for a better experience! Vincent and Judith(and the chef Cornelia) immediately made me feel comfortable. The only downside is that it is far from a bus stop and that the hours are often spread over the day, but for me it wasn't a problem since I came to relax and persue personal interests such as running, reading and practicing French<33 I was also lucky that the other volunteers was incredible people and really good at French, merci pour tout!

I absolutely enjoyed my time at the Villa d'Arzelier. The hosts are super welcoming and try to make you feel as comfortable as possible. If you enjoy long dinner conversations over raclette and dessert, love nature and feel like you want a calm place in nature, then this is your place. Working hours were very easy and the tasks were as described. You will get your own room, which I really enjoyed. Definetly be aware that you are going to a bit of a remote place, in a small village. Speaking French helps a lot too. Thanks a lot to Vincent, Judith and Cornelia for this amazing experience :))

My stay at the home was truly wonderful. This volunteering experience offers a perfect opportunity to enjoy stunning nature while meeting friendly and open-hearted people. The tasks were not difficult, and the working hours were always respected. Moreover, it is a great chance to practice your French. Both the place and the people who manage it are truly special. Thank you very much for your warm hospitality. Wishing you all the best!

The experience was good; we really liked the place where we stayed, and the conditions were nice. The tasks were as expected, and we didn't work more than necessary. The hosts were kind and pleasant and listened to our wishes. The only thing worth knowing is that the village is very small, and it's a 40-minute walk to the nearest shop, so if you want to buy something for yourself, think about it in advance. Also, lunch is at 12 and dinner is at 19. For us, that was a bit too long of a gap, and we were very hungry by dinner time, so we often made snacks for ourselves.
