For a non-veg/vegan, this experience is very valuable. I really liked the purely vegan diet and showed me once again that you can replace anything and it still tastes very good. Through the conversations and the time with the animals, I can actually imagine a veg/vegan diet and the experience is not intended to convert people, but it still makes you think. What I will miss most are the goats and the dogs (especially my love doña Carmen). The two locals are really committed to their animals who would do anything for them what I really appreciate and I hope they keep it up.Will visit them again☺

Being a volunteer at the shelter sanctuary was a great opportunity to be part of a project as beautiful as this, interacting with those responsible you can see how much love and dedication they put into building the sanctuary and giving the best for the animals, so knowing that I was part of building this is very special, and in return I was able to connect with nature and the animals who are simply adorable. Fran and Sabela are great hosts and always take your opinion and suggestions into consideration, so in general I only have good words to describe this experience.

The refuge is a precious place, which I recommend visiting with an open heart to hand it over to the refuge and they, each in their own way, will do the same with you. It is very nice to see how, day by day, you get to know them and you discover something unique about the personality of each one. Fran and Sabela make coexistence very pleasant and it is evident that their priority is the well-being of the refuge. Sabela is like a mother to everyone and is incredibly patient. Moreover, the tasks are simple and there is always something to do. I leave with very fond memories and many ideas for vegan recipes to try 🤍

It is like a small home in the mountains. The work is simple and rewarding, being with the shelter. The days pass calmly as new spontaneous activities arise. You lead a slow lifestyle but nothing boring, because there is always something to do: to build, to feed, to take care, or simply to spend time with the shelter, volunteers or hosts in the house, the meadows or even the river. The communal life is warm and close, especially thanks to Sabela, who loves all the shelter with all her heart and also cooks wonderfully. A shelter that is worth it.

It has been a very enriching experience. Fran and Sabela are incredibly flexible and make the stay very pleasant. They take great care of all the animals at the shelter, and it's very easy to learn from them. I would highly recommend it; it's an experience everyone should be able to live at some point.

Spending two weeks at the sanctuary has been incredible; Sabela, Fran, and Ray could not have treated me better. They explained in detail the story behind each animal and how each one has its own personality. I had the opportunity to feed them and learn about their care. Also, I ate some delicious vegan dishes, thanks to Sabela❤️. It has been an experience I will surely repeat in the future! I carry Suri especially in my heart 💘 Thank you so much for everything!!!

Spending this time at the Sanctuary has been an incredible experience.
I've learned many things about the animals and their care.
In this place the animals live their lives fully, they are perfectly cared for and loved.
Sabela is the best - she has infinite patience, she knows every animal - its habits, customs and everything it needs and prefers each one of them, as if she were the mother of all the little animals present at the Sanctuary, since each one has its own identity and its own tastes and you can see the love and the care she puts into her daily work.
And, she cooks deliciously! 😉

These 15 days in the shelter have been incredible, I feel very fortunate to have been able to know this project so beautiful and created with so much love. Fran and Sabela make you feel as if you had lived there all your life and give theirs for all the lives that there inhabit ❤️. I have learned a lot about the shelter, about gardening, construction or veganism and I have laughed a lot too! But above all I take with me every single one of the animals I met at the shelter! Carmen, Fan, Carmelita, Krampus, my Rocky, Blanqui, Cloti, Voldemort...even Pumba! 🤣 I sincerely hope to return someday ❤️

The refuge has been a beautiful experience. Fran and Sabella are excellent hosts, great people, and very attentive to my needs and to the little animals. Both the tasks, meals, the treatment, schedules as well as the facilities make the stay super comfortable and enjoyable. A lovely combination of meaningful tasks and being able to have free time to enjoy it peacefully. All around countryside, rivers, nature and mountains. Waking up and feeding all the little animals is one of the loveliest tasks you can have. I was delighted and I hope I can come back to help them.

I had a very beautiful experience at the shelter from the first moment I felt very welcomed. Isabella and Fran are very kind and open people and they inspire greatly with the love and dedication they have for their shelter. The work wasn't heavy; we simply helped wherever needed, and the exchange felt very natural and pleasant. In addition, a lot of time is spent outdoors, surrounded by nature, which makes the experience even more special, and along with all the love they have, they put into caring for the shelter; also cooking, vegan food, delicious, from which you can learn a lot.
