I had an amazing stay! the manager, other staff, guests and the environment were all super nice and accommodating. I think Osaka might be the best city in Japan to volunteer in. The working agreement gives a lot of free time to explore the city and even take multiple days to go to neighbouring cities like Nara or Kyoto.
Overall it was a wonderful time and i highly recommend it!

My stay here was alright. The sharehouse was a nice place to stay, though that depends on the people staying there as there are many of them so everyone should keep the space clean. I think a kind of a daily or weekly schedule with cleaning assignments wouldn't be bad (otherwise I feel no one would do the stuff, at least not on a regular basic) I was working in the location in Abeno and it was a challenge to stay cause the place felt very dirty do me, and even though I cleaned something, it still didn't feel clean. This was really my only issue, the hours are good and people very nice.

The location of the hostel was good as it was close to some touristic places and the metro but the neighbourhoud was not suitable for everyone I suggest you to look it online before going. Also the hostel had a bad smell to it. But overall it was a ok experience.

Volunteering here was generally positive and aligned well with the listing description. Location was convenient, the work was okay, not overly busy and the managers were really helpful. You rarely get to interact with guests. I think the most prominent feature of this project is that you are having 4 days off. If you are considering volunteering here, my suggestion is ask for working in Showa instead of Abeno. I worked in Abeno and unfortunately it has an unbearable smell that makes the work quite uncomfortable and it felt dirty. Aside from that it was a suitable place to volunteer.

The work itself is quite straightforward, but keep in mind that it requires more hours that the average Worldpackers gag. However, you get plenty of full days off, which gives you a great opportunity to explore the city. Regarding the location, the neighbourhood where they accommodation is located is quite humble and modest, but generally feels quite safe. Also keep in mind that you might not stay where you work, because sometimes they split the volunteers into different buildings. Lastly, the group of volunteers you share the experience with is a major deciding factor here!

I really enjoyed my time in the hostel Showa. The group of volunteers made a pleasant stay. We could cook use the bycicles of the hostel. 3 days of work, depending of the day but was quiet fair for the 4 days free we got was good. The hostel is very small and there were volunteers to split the tasks. I stayed in another building which I think made my stay comfortable. There is a party once a month I really enjoyed it. . I would like to come back sometime. Shu who was the manager was kind and always there for any help. Thank you very much family of the hostel. :)
