This was by far my best volunteering experience! From day one, I was welcomed as part of the family❤️ I was completely immersed in the local culture, everyone was so warm and lovely. I was also extremely lucky to take part in a hiking day to do some bird watching!! As for the work, it was fairly simple and chill, it varied alot depending if there where guests or not which I enjoyed. And the hostel is so lovely! If you want to disconnect from the city, enjoy tranquility and be surrounded by nature, this is the place🌳🦜 Muchísimas gracias Andres por todo🤗

It really was an incredible experience. I forgot all my stress during that time and was able to switch off like never before. The hostel is a beautiful place to enjoy nature and meet really nice people. You should definitely have a basic understanding of Spanish in order to be able to communicate without problems, although the hosts really try even if you don't understand Spanish. I was able to learn a lot of new things on this trip and experience unforgettable moments. I definitely recommend it!

Amalaya felt like a second home. From the moment you arrive, Andrés introduces you to all the volunteer tasks, but he also includes you in his activities as a guide, which can range from accompanying him on his trails to the waterfall to rappelling if you're lucky. This volunteer work is a mix of good things starting with Andres, the host, who is a spectacular person. He will make sure you lack nothing in terms of food and comfort, he will integrate you into his treks to the waterfalls, ecological, biological, and informational trails, where you can observe birdwatching, wildlife, and fungi. Andres's family and his friends welcomed me and made me feel like family—10 out of 10. The place is beautiful, pure contact with nature, and you have a bicycle to go to the town in your free hours, don't hesitate and come.

An entirely enriching experience in many aspects. The connection with nature was something very special and memorable, especially when you spend a considerable amount of time there, letting yourself be surprised by spontaneity; the smell of mango trees, the constant singing of the birds, and, in general, of the animals. It is a place where one steps out of your comfort zone, you learn to dare yourself and to challenge yourself, also sharing all your time with people new and so different from you. Very grateful to Andrés, always very attentive and willing to leave a part of him and of the hostel in the heart.
