Amazing. I have no words to describe how much I loved the weeks I spent there. Erna is kind, calm, flexible, wise. I could learn about the country, the food, the nature. I could relax, see a lot of different animals, amazing landscapes, she helped me and taught me so much. It was exactly what I needed, chiil, relax and disconnect. Erna and her husband and the kids Iqbal and Alia are amazing, fun and reliable. Erna is the sweetest host. Since he beginning she was really flexible, the tasks are fun and I didn't feel that I was working, but learning and playing - with her the guests, the kids. The internet is down sometimes but this is not her fault, so I had to reschedule some classes with my students. I am still here and I absolutely recomend it, it was my best experience so far! I feel like I am part of the family already 🌺😌🙏

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at ernas! the tasks were flexible and fun- i mostly helped with cooking classes which i really enjoyed! we also spent some time in the garden and harvested rice one day. I really felt like part of the family. if you want to spend some time in julie lawang with the real locals, this is the place to do it! terima kasih erna!! i hope to be back one day :)

The time at Ernas place was very beautiful! She is such a nice and joyful person and you will spend time together in the garden, on the farm or at the dinner table! You just need to meet Erna. She is the most funny and interesting women. We spent 1 week at her place, and we could have stayed more! We had 2 days off, 4 hours of work per days divided in 2 shifts of 2 hours. She was very flexible.
She gave us contact of one of her friend for jungke trekking and see Orang Outangs on days off 🥰 The meals were amazing, cooked with love with organic products of her garden🌱 Thanks again for everything, see you somewhere 👋

This week with Erna and her family was one of our highlight in the travel. Erna is very generous, welcoming and kind. The only thing bigger than her smile is her heart.
We learned a lot about indonesian cuisine and gardening. We aslo exchanged about the life in Bukit Lawang and the palm oil problematics.
The working time was 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. Erna is flexible and the tasks were various (picking coffee/fruits, planting seed, prepare the soil, assist her for cooking classes...)

Staying with Erna felt like being part of a family and the local community. I truly felt at home. I learned so much about sustainable living, including zero waste practices, gardening, rice field harvesting, composting, agriculture, and even chocolate making. the home food was always delicious and she always made sure there was fresh fruit available. She also kindly let volunteers use her motorbike if needed. The farm is about a 10-minute drive from the Bukit Lawang jungle. Her kids, Ikbal and Alya, are lovely, and the whole family made the experience unforgettable.
