Unlimited food from our storages and basic accommodation is provided, in exchange for 25 hours work per week and a couple of hours working towards the community. It’s rustic & basic but comfortable and we provide everything you may need for the duration of your stay.
We cook most of our meals together, have a cleaning rota as a community and everyone is encouraged to take part and do their bit! To really enjoy the experience here you must be happy to live in a very modest and sustainable way.
This is not a place for modern comforts or parties, this is a place to connect back to basics and nature.
- Small Animals Team: Your main tasks includes preparing the food (lots of chopping fruits and veggies), feeding and cleaning the enclosures of our smaller animals (including cats, dogs, goats, pigs, guinea pigs, turtles, rabbits, etc).
Also, you will be dealing with compost and food sorting tasks. You are a people person and happy to guide a small changing group of volunteers (we work on a rota system) through the tasks.
- Weekend General Helper: You main tasks include animal team support, compost (including picking horse poo, compost from kitchen and small animals), Food sorting, DIY/fixing things, Irrigation/water tanks, general cleaning tasks. Ideally someone over 25 with a driving license.
It can be messy and chaotic, so we need a person who thrives in this kind of enviroment and can adapt to new situations quickly and is solution orientated.
