I volunteered at the hostel in arequipa historic center for a week and really enjoyed it. Fernanda is super sweet, kind, making sure you're doing good at all times. The work is done in the morning, for me it was mostly housekeeping, cleaning..so the afternoon was free to explore beautiful arequipa. There weren't many English speaking guests, but even with my limited spanish I got around. Would recommend!

My time at the reserve Camping was a great experience. It's a really great place to fully immerse yourself and connect with nature. The work is fun and varied. It's not difficult as long as you don't mind a bit of manual labour. One thing I'd point out is that the room where I was staying was very different to that in the picture and the facilities are very basic. My room hadn't been used for a long time and was pretty dirty when I arrived which we then had to clean. I think from this point the host could have been a bit more organised as he knew I was arriving in advance.

My expérience is very particular because it's inexistant. The host informs me that the volonteer was not possible the day when the volonteer was supposed to start, i was litteraly on my way…. So i cannot judge the volonteer that seems to be cool. What im judging is the lack of communication and respect shown towards me.

Unclear listing: no photos of the actual workplace, misleading images, and an incorrect address on Google Maps. I only found out where I would actually be working on the day of arrival.

On site, I had my own room and a fair amount of freedom, which suited me. However, there was no structure: no schedule, no days off defined in advance, no explanation of the tasks, and very limited cleaning supplies. I ended up cleaning on my own, without organization or interaction.

Communication by message was pleasant, but there was no presence on site. The experience felt quite far from what I expected

This is more of a hotel than it is a hostel. I was there for two weeks and met one single English speaker. The rest were Peruvian families and travelers. This was totally ok with me as I speak Spanish but if you are a non Spanish speaker and you want to meet other travelers this is definitely not the place for you. It's a very quiet, lowkey hotel with not a lot of socializing going on. The owners Yasmany and Fernanda are very kind and helpful. It's in a good location and everything in the hotel functions well. Just know this is not a backpackers hostel.

À great experience, I give me the opportunity to learn and see how local people work in small farms. Eat the food directly from the farm and that a great experience

Most of the time i worked at the partner Hostel in Arequipa. I loved the work it was very easy and fun. I did not have many repeating tasks, i liked that very much. The women from the hostel i worked with was very nice from the beginning. I also worked at the farm for two days. The work was way harder but way more fun. I loved all the animals and the nature around it. I think its his humor but the guy from the farm is a little rude sometimes. I dont take it personal tho. One thing that i missed was good communication and i think i worked a little more then i thought i would need to. Loved it<3

We spent a wonderful few days with Yasmani and his family at the ranch. You have to be prepared to live off the grid and help with classic farm chores. We learned a lot and Yasmani was very attentive and flexible with us. We would definitely have stayed longer if we could have! A very nice project.

I had a very good experience as a volunteer. The atmosphere was pleasant from the first day and the host was always respectful and attentive. The tasks were well organized and what was agreed upon was fulfilled. The place is comfortable and an excellent opportunity to get to know Arequipa while you exchange work for housing. I recommend this experience to those who are willing to collaborate, respect the house rules, and want to share with people from different places. Thank you for everything!
