This was my first time volunteering abroad, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Claudio, Diego, Mary, and Richard were extremely generous and welcoming hosts. Working hours were flexible and the tasks easy, I always felt cared for by the staff, it was as if they welcomed me in to their family. The house itself is beautiful, spacious, and clean. The beds are comfortable and there is a well-stocked kitchen. There is a wonderful social atmosphere around the hostel- I will never forget watching sunsets from the terrace, cooking dinner with guests, and sharing many laughs.

The hostel La hostal el hostel was my first volunteer experience and it was a perfect place to start. It is a very beautiful and welcoming place, since the moment I arrived everyone was very kind and answered all my doubts. The schedules were very flexible and I could change some days so that I would get better weather and thus I could know other places on the island of Chiloé in my days off. Thank you for making my days in Ancud warmer, with every conversation, company and for those moments sharing food or a beer 💛 P.S.: I still don't know what the song of my life is

Hi, I'm Francisca and I spent three weeks as a volunteer at the hostel. It's an incredibly good experience; you feel at home from day one, the whole team is excellent, schedules and days off are respected 🥳. There is flexibility in it, and a very good harmony inside the hostel. I would return without a doubt to volunteer here. So I thank the team for the good vibe and affection, the good meals and conversations ❤️.
And for new volunteers, always come with the willingness to work well and deliver a good service ❤️. It's not demanding.

It felt like being at home; it was so cozy. From the bottom of my heart, I’m grateful that this was my first volunteer experience. Diego, Mari, Richard, and Claudio are very kind people. By far the best life experience.

The volunteering experience at the hostel is transcendental. From the moment you arrive in the city, there is a magic in the air that the hostel mirrors and makes its own. Mari, Richard, Diego, Claudio and Reni made me feel at home. Each day was a different and unforgettable anecdote. Just spending time at the hostel or wandering the streets of Chiloe is worth every second. The location is fantastic for traveling to the rest of the island; the terminals are very close. The guests are such a vibe; there isn’t a dull day. If you want to practice English, it’s ideal. Thanks to the guys for everything; I will definitely be back.

The hostel is very well located near the center and facing the Cruz del Sur terminal (very convenient). The city is beautiful and its people even better. The staff is impeccable, very professional and hospitable, generous and friendly. I leave with lots of good memories and lessons, and a happy, full heart 🤩

From the first day at the hostel they made me feel at home, they deliver on everything that's offered, the schedule is flexible, you have plenty of time to get to know Chiloé, which is beautiful. I had never been to this island and in one month I got to know it completely. It was my first experience as a volunteer. Diego, Mari, Richard and Claudio were always willing to answer my questions and inquiries about the island and the hostel. I leave with the best memory of this place and happy to have met such wonderful people 🥹 I recommend it 100000% 🤍

Fue mi segunda experiencia voluntariando y la verdad super contenta! Desde el compromiso de Claudio excelente anfitrión, Diego un genio y muy compañero. Un gusto conocer a Mari y que me haya enseñado a cocinar comidas típicas... El apañe fue increíble!!! Más que feliz con ellos... Volvería sin dudas! Es un hogar lejos de casa 💚

El hostel es seguramente el mejor hostel de Ancud, y lo vi en los ojos de muchísima gente durante los check ins. La casa está lindísima y no le falta nada, la gente es súper positiva y le importa de los uespedes más que de la plata (cosa bastante rara hoydia). Siempre podía encontrar comida casera y riquísima, quiero mencionar las empanadas de la Mari, los gnocchid de Diego, la pasta con mariscos de Claudio y el ceviche y merluza frita de Mario. Por una vez en mí vida no extrañe la comida italiana jaja. El trabajo es tranquilo y el lugar es precioso. Muy recomendado!!

Me voy con el corazón lleno de alegría, viví semanas hermosas en the hostel, en donde me rodee de gente cálida, que me cuidó y me hizo sentir en casa. Volvería mil veces. Gracias a todo el Staff.
