I couldn't have imagined a better place for my first Worldpackers experience and to discover life in the Canadian Rockies. Sophie was kind and supportive all the way, and the work was exactly as discussed. Mountains, forests, and the lake, the location is simply stunning! In my free time, I enjoyed hiking, horseback riding, and swimming. I also went rock climbing and played board games with the friendly team. I even got to learn some French! This experience allowed me to reconnect with myself. Truly grateful for this time! Wishing Sophie and Luke all the best, and I hope to see you again!!!

If you're looking for some beautiful scenery and fresh air, this is the place to be! The lake and mountain views are so stunning. Sophie and her family are incredible as well as the other staff working at the lodge. It's hard not to have a smile on your face and the kids will constantly make you laugh. The staff meals provided were also so delicious. Compliments to the chef(s)!

The lodge was my first Worldpackers experience and I couldn't be more grateful ! Sophie and her family are so kind and the staff is very welcoming ! You immediately feel very comfortable and part of the team. The views there are so amazing, I really recommend this volunteering ! The hours are good and the work is as described in the offer, no surprises. During my free time, I was lucky enough to get to experience ice climbing in a frozen canyon. I also did many hikes near the lake, there is always some place to explore, and we also played some board games with the kids.

I had a great time at the lodge and Abraham Lake. The family & staff are super nice and welcoming. Speaking French would have been an advantage during this experience tho. I'd have loved to do serving and social media as well, but I did housekeeping and cleaning consistently from 10-3.30 every day. The tasks were explained very well. In my free time, I went hiking, rock climbing and horseback riding. Be prepared to spend time on your own as everyone has different days off. The lodge is very remote, so having a car would be an advantage. I'm very grateful for my time at the lodge. Thank you!

Amazing experience! The family and the team are incredibly kind and welcoming. The location is stunning — perfect if you love the mountains, hiking, running, or just being surrounded by nature. There's a great atmosphere between the staff and the volunteers, with lots of shared activities and good vibes. The family is present, flexible, and really attentive. I highly recommend this volunteering opportunity! Just keep in mind that the place is quite remote, so having a car makes it much easier to get around, explore, and go on hikes.

The lake and mountains are stunning, I couldn't get enough of the sight. Sophie, Luke and the kids made me feel welcome and I really enjoyed the evenings when we played board games. The best part about the experience was going on skitouring and iceclimbing trips with Leo and Valu on my days off. I had a lot of fun!

This was my first stop in Canada and I loved my time at the lodge. The beauty of the forest and the lake is incredible. The family are truly lovely, respectful and kind. The work was always different and I learnt a great deal working alongside their chef. It's a professional environment but also a family one so won't feel homesick or out of place. I miss the kids already wish the lodge all the best in the future.

My short time at the lodge was great. The hosts are gracious and the food was amazing. There's a lot of great people to interact with. Knowing French is definitely a plus. Heads up, if you're washing dishes that the shifts can end late, about 10 or 11 pm. The best part for me was the nature. It's the most beautiful natural place I've ever seen! I had to leave early due to a health concern, but I wish I could have spent longer here.

The lodge is a great experience if you're looking to immerse yourself in the Canadian Rockies. I had my own private room and the food was excellent (prepared by chefs daily). That being said, this volunteer experience is structured more as a job and I was the only volunteer for a few weeks, and the rest were employed. Make sure that the hours, the days off, and the job you agree to are established prior to arriving at the lodge. Also transportation to the nearby National Parks requires a car if your wanting to explore the area on your days off. This area is remote and hitchhiking isn't common here.
