My experience at the hostel was amazing! I worked in the restaurant and it was like a real serving job. If you are not looking for putting a lot of energy into a serving job for 5 days a week I wouldn't recommend the restaurant position for you. If you are wanting some serving experience and to learn some Portuguese this would be a great opportunity! If you have worked in a restaurant before you know it can be stressful. The only thing I would've changed was that sometimes that stress was projected onto the volunteers but try not to take it too personally! The whole group felt like family ❤️

My experience was great! As a receptionist, you definitely have a lot of responsibility, but it's incredibly fun if you enjoy being organized and working around people. The team is fantastic—Ana is always there whenever you need her, and they provide a helpful handbook in case you ever have questions. Sharing the experience with three other girls was amazing. We had our own space, including a kitchen and bathroom. The location is excellent, making it easy to explore a lot of the hostel after work or on your days off. The support with the breaki and the 20 eur is for sure helpful!

I had an amazing experience at the hostel, highly recommend it! The staff is kind, supportive, and always attentive to volunteers' needs. They provide food and make sure everything is well organized. I worked at reception, handling check-ins and check-outs in a very organized and relaxed environment, and my days off were always respected and flexible. This experience was everything I could have asked for. Anna is an excellent host, giving us recommendations for local things to do and see. Cleiton and Carol were amazing and truly made an impact on me. Working at the cafe was really helpful for learning Portuguese as well. Portimão is an amazing town with beautiful beaches and views. Definitely recommend this experience as I felt like I was treated as family.

My three weeks staying at the hostel was better than I could ever have imagined. Immediately I was welcomed by Ana, Cleiton, Carol, James and Bruna with open arms and they became my home away from home which I am forever grateful for! Working in the cafe didn't even feel like a job, the hours were respected and we were also usually treated with a few samples of course. Cleiton and Carol love to see you succeed which made it such a fun environment to be in, and are always willing to help in anyway which was much appreciated. I look forward to visiting them again in the future ❤️

The hostel was my first Worldpackers experience and it was amazing ! Ana and the rest of the team were very welcoming and I felt at home. It was still low season but I think it was also a good thing because the region is not crowded et we had time to explore its wonders ! I would 100% recommend the experience and I'm glad to have come here and met wonderful people !

I had a really lovely experience volunteering in the hostel. From the very first day, Ana was always attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. Cleiton was very patient with me while I was learning how to work in the restaurant, always explaining things clearly and making me feel confident to improve every day. The working hours were always respected, and there was a great balance between helping out and having time to explore the city and enjoy the beach. I would come back for sure! ❤️

This has been one of my favourite volunteers yet! I met some of the best people that made my time there unforgettable. Ana is a great boss, she always took time to show us events and areas to visit and was flexible with work and days off. Clieton the cafe manager is an absolute legend, always there to help you out in the cafe and show you the ropes. Working in the cafe is fun, you learn come Portuguese too which is really cool. The location is also great, there are so many places to visit in Algarve and adventures to have. Definitely recommend this volunteer!

I absolutely loved volunteering at the hostel! The aesthetics were stunning, the staff were amazing, and special shoutouts to Ana, Clayton, and Carla for making it unforgettable. I grew so much in my craft as a barista and bartender, and it truly felt like a dream experience. Can't wait to come back next year!

I had lots of fun volunteering at the restaurant in the hostel. The girls I met volunteering together were amazing. We had lots of fun taking random adventures around the Algarve region of Portugal. Portimao is such a central town in the region which made it easy to do essential shopping while being really connected with the nature. The boss Ana and the manager Cleiton are also amazing and really enjoyable to work with. The work included serving and making drinks. You also end up learning some Portuguese during the process too !!
