Truly an incredible and unique experience at the farm. Big thank you to the host, Fernando, and all the wonderful fellow volunteers I met during my stay there :) While gardening, pruning trees, and harvesting organic fruits and vegetables, I was able to learn how to live more sustainably, hand in hand with nature. I loved volunteering in such a collaborative and welcoming space, taking in the great outdoors and an incredible nighttime sky. Favorite parts include raising baby chicks and using a woodcutter. I made a lot of mistakes, but I learned a lot too. Thank you!

It was a very positive and unique volunteering experience for me. I especially loved seeing the chicks in the incubator, which was something completely new to me and I found it amazing! I also had the opportunity to learn about pruning trees and take part in different outdoor tasks. Some of the work requires quite a lot of energy, but it is very rewarding.

The host was friendly and welcoming, and shared his knowledge throughout my stay. I really enjoyed being in contact with nature, learning new things, and having the opportunity to try things I had never done before.

Thank you

Volunteering at the farm was an amazing experience. Fernando was a great host, he taught us lots about syntropic agriculture. As well as this, we looked after chickens, built a kitchen for the common area and got the farm ready for an open day - which ment I now know how to use different tools. Everything outlined in the exchange was correct. Each day we take turns cooking, all of the other volunteers and Erasmus students were lovely and created a little family vide. Fernando does a big food shop once a week but anything that is low he can restock on. Would definitely recommend!

Fernando is an extraordinary host, very open to dialogue, always available for any need, and above all able to teach tasks that are not usuale for everyone.

My experience with Fernando was excellent. I highly recommend considering what he has to offer. It was a new experience for me in this environment, but Fernando was always willing to help us learn and try new things, and he was always available to resolve any issues that might arise during our stay. My overall assessment is overwhelmingly positive.

I enjoyed a lot my experience in the farm, the team was awesome, and Fernando has a lot of knowledge when talking about farming and why is important to do it while taking care of the ecosystem. I eat delicious food from different parts of the world because every volunteer gets to share a little when cooking. The only think I wish I had more information about was the type of clothes proper for the work at the farm, I just reached the weather and didn't realize I probably need long legs pants and long sleeves to protect myself from the heat and from the wild berry bushes. But anyway a greattime

I very much enjoyed my time at the farm. Fernando is a wonderful host. If you have any problems, he will do his best to help. He doesn't live at the farm but commutes every day. If you want to learn more about trees and other plants, this will be an amazing opportunity for you. I was going to stay for a month but there was no way I was going to be able to learn all that I wanted to in that time. Thankfully Fernando had available rooms and I was able to stay for 4.

I had a great time at the farm! The work is fullfilling and sometimes tough in the heat but we always made sure to have a nice lunch break. Fernando and the other people I met during my stay are really nice and we got to attend a fun and interesting workshop one of the days. The facilities are very simple but it worked fine for me, all in all a very good experience!

Fernando is a very kind & receptive host. There is always work to do (weeding, pruning trees, planting, harvesting) so expect tiring work. But there is a lot of flexibility with how you work your hours which allows for plenty of rest! Working here with Fernando was very rewarding & I would recommend As for the location, you are in Setúbal 20 miles away from Lisbon, which is about a 2 hour train ride. The nearest bus stop is a 20 min walk from the farm. Getting a ride (uber, bolt) can be a bit of a hassle because the drivers struggle to get to the rural address. Plan accordingly! :)
