I had a great time volunteering on the island. Both housekeeping and the host were new experiences for me and the tasks were easy to learn. I appreciated being assigned on both kind of shifts and when I knew I had done the tasks as expected by the hosts. I also liked when we could work with other volunteers when there was more to be done. It was possible to arrange schedule to explore on our days off which was great. Know that you have to be flexible as you know your shift the night before. The few times all together with staff and hosts was nice. I would have taken more 😊.

Thank you to Monica and Mario for the opportunity to live the Arctic island life! It was amazing to experience the daily life and events of the small community on Skrova as well as a 24/7 daylight. Work time, tasks and demand varied day by day but hours were respected. Fellow volunteers were all great people which made the vibe in our house so fun. Although the Norwegian weather tested us, we always had things to do like playing pool, table tennis, listening to live music in the host, not to mention using sauna, paddle board, hiking, cycling and enjoying beaches when it was sunny 🫶.

A big thanks to Mario & Monica for welcoming us and showing us the ways of Skrova. No matter the weather, you could always find a cozy place to be in, whether it was the host with its jam sessions, exchanging stories and experiences with other volunteers, or exploring the many beautiful spots on the small but wonderful island itself, which on a good day can be truly mesmerizing. As for the work, it was mostly the host or guesthouse tidying/cleaning and connecting with guests, but there was enough variety to keep things interesting. I do recommend this place who is up for an adventure!

Spending almost 7 weeks the host was one of the most memorable experiences I've had. Not only was the island setring unique and unexpectedly surprising, the activities and jobs done were usually dynamic and there were always opportunities to learn something new. Wethwr it was hotel management, housekeeping, the host work, bartending or simply learning to colive with other hosts, Skrova always presented an opportunity for personal growth and close proximity to some of the worlds most incredible natural landscapes. 10/10 would recommend!

Skrova is absolutely stunning. Mario and Monica are kind and understanding hosts who always respect the agreed hours and tasks. The work varies depending on what the guesthouse and the host need, so there is always something different to do. You don't have a fixed schedule and usually find out your hours the night before, although you can ask in advance if needed. You'll live in a house with other volunteers and the food supply is more than adequate. Be prepared for rainy days, but also for an amazing North Norwegian experience. Thank you, Monica and Mario <3

So many amazing moments: watching the northern lights, hiking to breathtaking viewpoints, seeing the flowers blooming, contemplating the midnight sun. It was my first time volunteering with Worldpackers and I had an amazing experience! The island and its surroundings are insanely beautiful. The tasks in the host and the guest house are easy and the timetable and days off are respected, although you only know your schedule the night before. We also did some really nice activities in our free time with Mario and Monica and the other volunteers. I would recommend ;)

My 2 months the host were really nice :) It's a small island so by the end I was missing a bit of “movement” , but you have nice hikes and beaches to explore. You can explore Lofoten also but always have to match with the ferry schedule. The work is fair and 5 hours are always respected but keep in mind our tasks are really important for the business, so it is work. The food provided is good and volunteers house is cozy! I felt I developed a really nice relationship with Mario and Monica and I will miss our work in the host together ❤️ Thank you for everything!!!

I had very good time the host despite the norwegian weather in march. The accomodation (in Winter) is amazing and the provided food is also good. Monica and Mario were always respectful and made sure we are comfortable at all times. I loved the chill conversations and getting insights into the history and local life on the island. Though the island appears small at first, it is full of surprises waiting to be discovered. For anyone seeking a peaceful, authentic escape on this windy but breathtaking island, I cannot recommend this experience enough. 🫡
