Volunteering at Khaled's the camping has been the highlight of my trip. From the first day I was immediately welcomed and treated like family. I will truly cherish the quality time I spent with Khaled, his nephews and his sons. The work is exactly what was outlined in the description and really easy. I had plenty of free time and was encouraged to explore Wadi Rum. Jeep tour is included and the food is REALLY good. Prepare to be in complete isolation, personally I really enjoyed the quiet of the desert. I would have loved to stay longer! Thank you Khaled!

The volunteering was nice and easy . I stayed there for 2 weeks and it was interesting and fun experience . There were also other volunteers who helped and with whom I explored the desert.I recommend to anyone who wants to chill, see the desert and be part of bedouin life. Thank you Khaled for the opportunity and good luck to you and your family , see you next time if not as volunteer then as a guest. Greetings from Mahmood :)

I just left the camping and I already miss it. This felt like a once in a lifetime experience and I only hope I can come again to volunteer and change that to “twice+” Khaled is an open, honest, respectful, generous host who treated me like family. I learned so much about desert life from him and his family. The desert is awe-inspiring, and perfect if you like long walks, climbs, and just sitting and thinking - or going on tours/hikes on your days off. Honestly, I felt like I grew as a person here and would recommend this to anyone who sees the Wadi Rum and feels excitement and intrigue. Do it.

Khaled and his family are so welcoming and accommodating. During my time here, my work was straightforward and flexible. The experience isn't about the work though- it's to immerse yourself in the landscapes and the lifestyle, to learn some Arabic phrases, to enjoy tea by the fire every night, to get to know the lovely family that has run this the camping for generations. Khaled's the camping is a special place and I would 10/10 recommend the experience to others. ❤️

I had an incredible time in Wadi Rum , the place is unparalleled. The desert is unique and something you have to see at least once in your life. Our host, Khaled, was super respectful, kind, attentive in every way, and above all fun. He allowed us to immerse ourselves in his culture, with the people of his village, and his beautiful family.
It's an experience I 100% recommend, both for the beauty of the place and the kindness and good treatment of Khaled and his family, who truly made us feel at home.

My experience with Khaled was my first time volunteering around the world, and it couldn't have been better. He welcomed us with open arms, shared his culture, introduced us to his family, and always made sure we were feeling good, confortable and had everything we needed. We shared so many laughs, tea (amazing tea), stories, even a tradicional wedding. The peace and calm of the camping is something I will never forget. I really recommend this experience — words can't describe how special it was.

The word count limit will make it hard on this review because my experience has been just amazing and I have a lot to say. In really grateful for the time I spent here. The connection I had with this place was amazing, the people, the camping, the safety, everything is amazing. Volunteering at Khaled's the camping is one of the most beautiful things I have ever done, I really suggest to everyone to try to live in the desert at least once in their life and come to this the camping. Khaled is a respectful person, funny who really tries to make you part of his Bedouin family. Recommended

The experience was overall good, but the beginning was difficult. Due to previous volunteers, I didn't feel very welcomed at first, and being told I was “on trial for 3 days” created insecurity, especially in a desert environment. I have experience in many volunteer projects, but the start was not ideal. Over time things became calmer and more respectful. Keep in mind this is a desert the camping with limited comforts. I worked extra hours and didn't receive days off or tours as listed. The host is a good person, and I respect him. I recommend the experience, but also check other options in wadirum

It was a mixed bag of feelings about this volunteering from the start; it wasn't very pleasant. I don't know the reason, but I limited myself to doing only my job, though there are many points for improvement in this volunteering. The views are incredible; it's what I loved most. But the description of the volunteering doesn't match reality. The internet made it difficult for me to do my job because it's of low quality and it made me work more hours than agreed, and in some cases my days off were not respected. The communication with the host was a bit complicated. There is no laundry, among other things that are in the info.
