Pros: Experiencing the rainforest and its rivers was incredible. Being invited by Misael's cousin Efrain and his family some times, was very nice. When I got sick, Misael was considerate and ensured I recovered. They also shared traditional knowledge about plants. Sometimes there was little to do, leaving me with much free time.
Cons: I faced several unexpected costs like weekend/boot fees or bus tickets and entrances for work-related travel. Communication with Misael was unfortunately often confusing, unclear or completely absent. I expected to be flexible, but it required a high level of it

We had a very pleasant experience volunteering in the farm, accommodation was great, there was a variety of different work tasks that were fun and interesting. Misael was very knowledgeable about the culture in the community. There was plenty of days off to spend at swim spots nearby. There are multiple additional costs that we were not aware of, be sure to discuss this beforehand but overall we had a great 3 weeks volunteering.

An exceptional experience to find yourself in the heart of the Amazon, close to a Kichwa community. The tasks are varied, nothing is predetermined, which is part of its charm. The host has an extensive knowledge of his culture and takes great pleasure in sharing it. I remain skeptical about a few aspects, both behavioral and ceremonial.

An amazing experience which made me understand the way of the jungle, the way the communities interact, so many things about the nature in a peaceful and cosy environment. I would strongly recommend it and Misail is a very good host making sure that you have an amazing stay.

Great time here with Misael! Great to see the local community and definitely got welcomed into the family. Got to da traditional cleansing ritual, tour of the Amazon and even got invited to a quinceañera!

My experience at the community overall was positive thanks to the other volunteer and the kids at the community. It's a great opportunity to learn Spanish since almost none of the community speaks English and it's only a bus ride away from the local city Tena. The accommodation was good and had everything you need. Unfortunately for me the only downside was that there wasn't really a plan for volunteers and you had to come up with what you wanted to do yourself, so I would really recommend communicating with Misael beforehand about what exactly you will be doing for your stay.

The experience was very good! Misa is very flexible and a nice person! The little house is great, I really recommend it because it is a place of a lot of peace and tranquility!! The only thing I recommend is updating the profile of what is provided to the volunteer since wifi is not included (if you want to use it you have to pay for it) and some other issues

It was really nice to meet and spend some time here at the house. We were very well received by Misael and his family. The place is beautiful, surrounded by rivers, with plenty of activities to do, but it's worth noting that, unlike what was announced, the tours are not free for volunteers and, instead, have discounts. I recommend doing the jungle bath with Rami, a unique experience!
