I was there during a quiet time so we didn't have many guests and Oscar was very happy for us to do our own thing when we weren't checking guests in and out :)

The hostel is a very nice place to volunteer at! It is super chill and Oscar is really nice. He was understanding when I asked to change a couple days on my schedule. Honestly sometimes I'd feel bad cuz there wasn't much work to be done and I felt a bit useless, but it's a new hostel and things should pick up soon. The accommodation is very nice and clean and there are 2 pools. I was the only volunteer there during my time but you can still meet guests and people around Valladolid to hang out with. Valladolid is amazing and I definitely recommend going :)

The experience was positive: the work was simple and quick, leaving plenty of free time. For several days I was the only volunteer (later only one more arrived) and there were few guests, so it's not ideal for those seeking a social or party environment. There is no exclusive room for volunteers and bed assignments are fixed; I requested a change due to discomfort with a roommate, but it was not carried out until the last day. The common areas are well equipped, especially the kitchen, and the pool is excellent for swimming. Oscar was kind and willing to accompany me to take a bus at 4 a.m.

Lamentamos algunos aspectos que no fueron de tu agrado, existen temporadas altas y bajas: hay semanas en las que el hostel está completamente lleno y otras en las que la ocupación es menor, lo cual es algo normal y fuera de nuestro control. Durante tu voluntariado, además, pasaste la mayor parte del tiempo trabajando en tu propio proyecto, el cual formaba no era parte de los acuerdos del programa, tu carga de trabajo estuvo enfocada principalmente en ese desarrollo personal.
