Overall I had a great experience at the hostel! Nico & Rocio welcomed me immediately. I got sick my first week & they gave me time to rest and recover. Tasks were agreed upon- work in the kitchen for 5 hrs a day, though sometimes 6. Nico was hilarious and so fun to cook with; I learned many Mexican recipes. I am a beginner at Spanish which was very stressful at times but I wanted the challenge and definitely got to practice. Downsides- the bathrooms are very basic. Coworking space & wifi weren't ideal for teaching online. No privacy and guaranteed quiet anywhere - consider if you're a digital nomad

Everyone was very welcoming when I arrived, and I got the chance to know several of the "regulars" at the hostel. Host was out of country during my stay, but still communicative. He was fantastic in limiting my work to 3 days per week, with 4 days off to travel. All tasks were housekeeping, and generally straightforward. I was incredibly lucky to be in SLP for Feria de La Primavera and got to see amazing concerts with many people from the hostel.

Many other volunteers asked me about this project so I will be clear and honest: you will do cleaning and it will be so much work because you are alone in your shift (doesn't count with the manager), also be careful with the 💰 (they will tell you don't say to the owner, so be careful) and there is another volunteer who is not doing anything so you should be aware about that you will work more hours than try offered, so cheers and good luck

We feel very sad to leave this review. Specially, since we write several times to this person to see if it was all ok at work and he never say anything until the last days and then now. While you are alone during your shift, all tasks are scattered through the day so everyone helps. To give you an example, if one where to do all tasks non-stop, it should take you half a day only. Even less time during covid-times, like it was this case. Now that tourism is revamping, our cleaning lady is coming back also to help.
To those who read this, we encourage you to check our reviews in other booking sites to see the quality of the hostel.

Volunteering at the hostel was a joy. The hostel itself has a great location and satisfactory ameneties all around. The owner, Alex, was friendly and helpful when I had questions about anything. The list of daily tasks is always organized and expectations are always clear. I would recommend the hostel to anyone traveling to SLP.

Everything was very comfortable and calm at the hostel. The hostel is comfortable, with good bunks, tidy and very pleasant common spaces, especially the terrace. The tasks they assign you are doable and relaxed, they have their system. I recommend the city! It’s colonial, beautiful and orderly, a place to live calmly with things to do (there's good mezcal too ;) And the staff are super friendly, always considerate and attentive, also open to doing entertaining things...
Excellent SLP!! We love you all at the hostel!

My volunteering at the hostel was great. The working hours were fair and were respected. I especially liked that four days were worked and then there were three days off. That gives you a lot of time to go on excursions and explore the area or dedicate yourself to other things. The tasks were not difficult and the communication was perfect when questions arose.
Thanks to the whole hostel family for that experience, I really enjoyed my stay there and I will definitely return!

Volunteering is a wonderful experience thanks to Nicolás's flexibility and because the general conditions are very fair. However, I believe that the volunteers' experience could be even better if there was work on team unity. At times, communication from management and the support staff felt a bit distant, and I think a more open, friendly environment with the courtesy typical of a multicultural space would make everyone feel truly welcome.
