I spent around few months at Maglič Grad, and it became much more than just a volunteering experience for me. The people, the nature, and all the little moments we shared made it a very special part of my time in Serbia.
I helped with the bar, and everyday tasks, and loved being part of the team. Thank you, Miloš and Hannah, and all the wonderful volunteers I met along the way, for the memories, laughter, and time together.
I left with new friendships and so many stories to remember. Maglič Grad will always have a special place in my heart. ❤️

This was one of my favorite volunteers of all time. Milos is an excellent human being. I've always felt like he was taking care of me. Food was always very abundant, which is rare while volunteering. Even the times that Milos had to deal with bigger problems, he always managed to motivate us, and make us feel like home. When the job was difficult, Milos was always aware and gave us a free drink or something in exchange. Milos was a volunteer before, and i think that makes a huge difference. Because he clearly knows what it's like to be on our side. I absolutely recommend this place!

Although I had a shorter stay than expected, I had a great time at Maglič. Loved spending time on the waterfall and the hammock and had a great time hanging out with the volunteers/staff. The jobs were easy and diverse, from watering the tomatoes to varnishing the deck and giving a hand in the kitchen. The working hours were respected and so were the days off. The food was yum and they fed us very well. I would recommend Maglič if what you are looking for is a place to slow down and be closer to nature!

The project was a wonderful experience! You get to see the mountains & a literal medieval castle, hang out with animals, explore. The people are delightful - we got along well with both other volunteers and staff :-). The work is fairly simple but never boring, and there is often something going on. This is a great way to take a break from city life and immerse yourself in the Serbian countryside.

Maglic is a special place. You get to live in a caring and fun community, surrounded by beautiful nature. I mostly helped in the kitchen and spent my free time chilling at the waterfall, the castle or the river. It can get quite busy and hectic on the weekends but during the week it's more quiet. If you're looking to reconnect with nature and contribute to a growing project - that's it! 🌷

At maglic I had super contact with nature, animals, hiking, met locals, learn a lot about the Serbians and Balkan culture, food and even some words in Serbian, Miloš is a incredible person and host, he makes sure that everyone is feeling good and having a good time at the community, always checking on us, the team works together and taking care of each other. Magličgrad is a beautiful place, the setup for volunteers is well thought out and the appropriate amenities are provided. They take pride in what they have built, which is respectable. I enjoyed taking part in the various projects outside, although I was needed in the kitchen more later. Be clear and sincere with your limits and they will be respected. Leadership can come off as harsh which I personally understand, but it would benefit everybody if issues were addressed one-on-one. There was tension in the air between certain people, that could have and should have been sorted out privately.
