Volunteering in the hostel in the hostel was definitively the best choice! The city: middle-big city with lots of cultural opportunities, bars, parks and sightseeing. It's well connected in terms of public transport and the city in general is safe. The hostel: the location in Cologne is very good, close to the center and just 5 mins away from tram stations. The facilities are pretty good, the room the volunteers are in is shared, you can use the kitchen and have breakfast The work: all schedules were respected and the working environment is very nice, everybody is very helpful in the team.

The hostel in the hostel is a very chill place for a volunteering experience, even mine that lasted just one month. The team there is big and everyone was always helpful if I had questions! I've never felt pressure while doing my shift, tasks where always different (especially while working in facilities) so was difficult to be bored. The hostel is in the city centre and you can easily visit and experience the hostel, almost feeling like a citizen!

My experience at the hostel in Cologne couldn't have been better. The work was always fair and as agreed from the beggining. Romina is a very cool host, communicative, funny, and always willing to help. The whole hostel team is incredibly welcoming and creates a great atmosphere. I learned new skills, met amazing people, and made friendships I'll carry with me forever. I highly recommend this experience to anyone and would definitely do it again.

Really good experience! The entire team and staff at the hostel were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Thanks to Romina, she is a lovely person, always helpful, and she made sure I had everything I needed throughout my project painting the murals.
We are definitely staying in touch, and I will surely visit them again in the future. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great volunteering experience! It was an absolute pleasure.

I applied last minute and got the response very fast which was great.
We worked 4 days a week, 6 hours each day.
It is not a social hostel. It's more like a normal hotel even with families and school trips frequently. Since there are no activities with guests it's a bit difficult to socialize with them.
If you are okay with that I'd say it's a great option to volunteer. Food (breakfast and sometimes dinner) was amazing.
