Volunteered for a week during the spring holidays and it was very fun! worked in the kitchen every evening and it was hard work but very rewarding to feed hundreds of people! loved connecting with the other volunteers and exploring the land! so many kind animals :)) had a really groovy time! definitely would go back to the land.

The festival was full of fun, entertainment, vibrant music, art, community engagement and a hub generating incomes for local business. It attracted big numbers, approx. 130,000. It is annual, strategically planned on a grand vision of over 500 years. We were accorded good reception, free delicious meals, health fitness (yoga, massage) and networked. Volunteers were engaged according to one's skills. Festival nurtures talent and a rehab. There is a robust environment, energy and waste management system, humans in harmony with nature. Lake Gkula has fresh waters for swimming and fish. MEMORABLE.

John was a fantastic volunteer, contributing in many teams, always wanting to learn more and try new things. In the end, he settled into a role in the volunteers kitchen crew and was amazing! It was also great to have him share about his culture and for our other volunteers to learn about life in Uganda. We're grateful to him and also to Worldpackers for providing this avenue for connection across the globe with fabulous willing workers to join our crew. Thank you John & Worldpackers!!
