Program Details

This is not a hostel, neither a job, neither a cheap place for broke, boring interchangeable travelers. This is a true cultural exchange for restless minds! Your chance to make a genuine, long lasting friendship with a cool local guy, and enjoy Alicante together while staying at his dope seafront villa. We will share activities, meaningful experiences, and learn from each other. Follow me on IG @jhernanper, let's make a videocall and see if we connect, have common interests and vibe. If we do and I invite you, I will show you the best not-so-touristic spots: best hidden beaches, hikes, clubs, restaurants. You will meet my friends and/or worldpackers that might be visiting, so fun is guaranteed. I am interested in digital entrepreneurship, vibe coding with AI, marketing, digging music, watching movies, cooking and drinking creatively, hiking and exploring nature, paddle surfing, playing ping pong, karaoke! I can teach you some Spanish, English, Russian or Arabic, what can you teach me? Let's share good times and enjoy all that Alicante has to offer!"

Activities & Shift

To contribute in return for your room, you will be in charge of the following house chores:\n\n- Cook a two-course meal every day.\n- Keep the kitchen, toilets, bedrooms, living room and terrace clean and tidy, take out the trash.\n- Wash the floors and windows.\n- Take dog poops off the garden, sweep the grass, set up the robot in the swimming pool.\n- Wash clothes (careful with mixing whites and color), hang them to dry and put them back into their place, renew bed sheets.\n\nOverall it will take you around 2-3 hours per day, which in exchange for accommodation is pretty cheap. You need to be proactive, see what needs to be done, and do it.\n\nThere might be other worldpackers around who would share these tasks, so it can be even easier.\n\nYou will just need to contribute to expenses like food and products, we will split the bill evenly when we do our groceries.

Rules

- Modays to Fridays you need to live during the day and sleep during the night. This is not a hostel, it's a house :)\n- You need to make sure that I have my lunch ready with two courses, every day.\n- You need to be very proactive with house chores. I don't need to tell you what you need to do, you are an adult, you should be able to see what needs to be done.\n- You are invited for a cultural exchange, so you are expected to interact with me and other guests and be an extrovert with everyone, use our common spaces (not hide in your room forever lol) and start conversations, be polite and empathetic, look up and suggest activities we can do together!\n- You will be sharing my most personal space, my home, so you need to make sure I feel comfortable and respect the house rules: turn off lights when you leave a space, close water tabs, close and lock doors and windows, always mind where your keys are, turn off air conditioning when not needed and use it reasonably, keep your room tidy, keep the toilet tidy, unplug your stuff when you are not using it, be silent while others sleep. All these basic things that show that you are an adult who cares and values the opportunity you are given.\n- Food and expenses: we will do the groceries together and split the cost in equal parts among everyone in the house, same with light, water, gas, etc when you stay for more than a week. You need to be proactive when it comes to pay for your stuff.
