I stayed 6 weeks at the hostel and I can honestly say I'm sad to be leaving the wonderful people and staff that I met during my stay. Everything is accurately reflected in the description. Lunch was hit or miss. Location was amazing. Sunsets were even better. It was my first time bartending but it got easier as the weeks passed. We ran into a small issue as half of the volunteers were sick and being kept in a room without proper airflow was concerning--took a minute before we got a new AC filter. I had a wonderful time in the hostel, made a lot of friends and had fun with everyone. I was in the social media position and also doing some days of pubcrawl, and it was a pretty simple job. The accomodation is a staff room, which is small for 6 people and could be improved. You have the hostel breakfast which is really good and lunch included that is always Vietnamese food. Thank you Ali and the hostel team, hope to see you in the future!

My experience at the hostel was amazing! I made many friends and had so much fun with everyone on the team, both locals and volunteers. I also got to explore Hanoi, since they are very organized with the schedules, which helped me enjoy the experience even more. It was my first time working in a the hostel, and it helped me discover new skills. I had to leave a few days early because of family matters, and the team was very understanding. A place I 100% recommend! An experience that will stay in my memory forever. I'm very grateful to the whole team for the time we shared, and I hope we meet again!

I loved every second of this experience. I truly felt at home. The place is comfortable, the breakfast and lunch are delicious, and the entire staff is simply amazing. The schedules are very well organized so that you have plenty of time to enjoy the city. The hostel is also very well located in Hanoi, which makes exploring the city easy. Working at the hostel is a lot of fun and also a great opportunity to practice different languages and meet travelers from all over the world. It's definitely a place I would recommend. I already miss it!

This is my first volunteer experience on this platform, and it went smooth and satisfying. I feel welcomed in this environment, and the hosts are patient and willing to train and help. Some info if needed: Volunteers don't stay in the hostels, instead we share a 8-people room (but never fully packed during my stay) in a homestay nearby.

This had everything to be an amazing experience. Actually the first week when everything was running smoothly, everything was great. So i want to thanks ellie, dani, ali and James for the good moments. Unfortunately the hostel had a problem with the police and the hostel had to be shut down. It was said to us we could stay until the pre arranged dates. A few days later, all in the sudden, the owner of the hostel said we have to leave in the day after. We were surprised by this but we negotiate with her one more day so we can have more time to get a new place. Bitter end for a sweet start.

The work at the hostel was very fun and easy to do, and I was really enjoying the experience at first. However, something happened: the police shut the hostel down… and at first we were told we could stay until the end of our agreed dates through Worldpackers. Suddenly, they changed their minds and told us to leave the next day, essentially forcing us out without any time to organize ourselves. After insisting, we managed to get one extra day with the manager, who was consistently unwelcoming towards us. What started as a great experience unfortunately turned into a nightmare.

Lake view is a very social and friendly hostel! The staff is great and the working hours are very easy. Volunteers have delicious food everyday, drinks at the hostel and laundry service that helps a lot. I definitely recommend this experience for a solo traveler.
