From the first moment the colleagues welcomed us well; we didn't feel supported by the host. We came to work on creating content for social media, but that wasn't usually the case: we spent the five hours of volunteering scrubbing. The main problem was the lack of communication and clear guidelines about the work. On the other hand, both the facilities and the food they provide are quite meager. Although the volunteer team made the experience more pleasant, in this volunteering you are more of a worker than a volunteer.

I volunteered with a friend as waitresses. All the volunteers and staff were very welcoming and willing to help. I would have liked the accommodations to have a bit more facilities, especially since we went in the summer. However, the experience was incredible and rewarding. Thank you very much, the farm🩵

Our experience was disappointing. From the moment we arrived, we did not feel welcomed: we needed to have lunch, but everything was closed and the host did not guide us or show any concern. The accommodation was dirty, disorganized, very hot, and there was only one bathroom for eight people, and it was inside the room of the person in charge of the lodging. The tasks were not explained clearly and we had the feeling of being in a regular job, not in a volunteering program. There was a lack of communication, respect, and hospitality, so we decided to end the experience earlier than planned.

This was my second volunteering experience and to be honest it wasn't as good as the first one, many volunteers and little impartiality, in my case they kept me working the whole time in the garden removing the weeds mainly for 5 hours in a row with extreme heat. When I applied to the posting, it talked about work in areas such as kitchen helper, service in the dining room, cleaning and gardening; that's why I was motivated to apply since I love cooking and the Hospitality that is my profession but, for them the volunteering comes to cover their own business needs.

Having the possibility to take on other tasks has been offered to you, but you decided to leave before what was agreed. I offered you several times to come to the beach and you told me that you preferred to stay in the orchard due to the schedules for going to the beach. I'm sorry you weren't comfortable. Good luck in Barcelona; I hope you are happy and that you can find the experience of a lifetime as you want.

I liked it a lot; it's a nice place and a calm town. Everyone in the kitchen and garden got along very well with me, especially the friendship I made with the other volunteers. I carry very good memories with everyone. There are a few things that the farm could improve; it's a very nice place and it would be good if they took advantage of it in that way.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The people who welcomed me aren't polite and don't have good manners. The facilities are not appropriate: I was sharing a room with a female roommate, and at the same time a couple walked through to enter their room. That is very uncomfortable, mixing single women with couples. The house is inhabited by two animals, a cat and a dog, which do not have a yard, so they dirty everyone's space.
Now that I can compare my experience with that of another volunteer program (this was my first), I realize the lack of gratitude and kindness.

We volunteered for a month at the farm. The best part is the team: the cooking couple is amazing and makes the work light with music and conversations. The food is excellent and you learn a lot. The house is close by but privacy is lacking: the only bathroom is inside a room and the water is cut off at midnight. There was a lack of schedule organization and a softer communication, since there was personal tension with the management. Despite the logistical challenges and the direct dealings, the cultural experience and the friendships are worth it. A place with a lot of potential if expectations are well coordinated!

The house is spacious enough to accommodate several volunteers. The common areas are basic and allow cooking and moving around with space. The guys who work there are always available to answer any questions or suggestions you may have. I would improve the separation of the bedrooms since there isn’t always private space.

Being at the farm was very good; meeting Argentinians and working intensely together was a lot of fun, and a very nice family-like atmosphere was created.
We had to be present during a difficult moment for the family, and we felt that we could help them and they let us know.
In some situations I didn't feel very comfortable with the way people communicate, perhaps it's a cultural thing I'm not used to.
The fact that there was no internet at home for me was a bit tricky since I still work on the road, although I could use the one in the living room.
Thanks, farm staff!

My experience at La Stalla was good in relation to my coworkers and the tasks are not difficult to perform. Anyone can be capable of carrying them out. If you need to know what it's like inside a kitchen and the pace of work on some days can be high. The only thing I wasn't satisfied with was the host's organization, the way of communicating, and the assignment of tasks at the last moment. Apart from that, the experience was lovely and LaStalla is a beautiful place. I recommend doing volunteering in the summer.
