Program Details
We are talking about a volunteer system, which is a service-for-stay exchange. It does not involve cash payment.
30 hours per week are exchanged (distributed according to the schedule) for accommodation, which includes a shared dormitory, laundry, and a simple breakfast on some days and a more varied one on others (depends on our occupancy rate). For the other meals, we can share and each day a volunteer prepares their specialty, we just split the expenses.
Within the schedule, usually not all hours are used, but I do not require you to pay them (with work). But if you need reinforcement for an event or to cover someone's absence, we can arrange the possibility of "paying" these hours, ok?!
Activities & Shift
On the schedule, at first, there are 4 days a week of collaboration for 6 hours or 6 days of collaboration for 4 hours. In total, that adds up to 24 hours. These three to four hours that remain go to the hours bank and can be "paid" in case of extra need.
Rules
You will receive training (customer service, cleaning the rooms, breakfast preparation, etc.) to feel comfortable volunteering as a Packer, ok?
You will also help at reception and with all the context for organizing the Hostel (this includes giving the house a general tidy to keep everything in order and clean).
I want to make clear that we are honest, clean and respectful, we have a family-like environment and the care to keep it that way! Therefore, if that is the case, you will feel quite comfortable with us... I’m sure!
I also like to make clear that even though it is a 'work' system on a swap basis, it is of real importance to have commitment, right?
Staying in a hostel is relaxed and all good, but the fun comes later :)
