Truly a one of a kind experience- this a well organized program from top to bottom. I felt welcomed and comfortable from the start, and all expectations & information was communicated very clearly. My time at the school itself was nothing short of incredible, and I already miss the daily interactions with students & staff. The homestay allows you to be safely immersed in the local community. Would 100% recommend to anyone interested, you won't regret it!

I cannot say enough amazing things about my experience at 3MM. Dioni is an amazing coordinator. He accommodated my timing, stayed in great communication throughout, and ensured I was having a great time. Sarah, the founder, is an incredible human and I loved assisting her. The staff are so welcoming, and despite all their responsibility, they make time to educate volunteers about the Montessori method and make you feel included in all they do. The kids are SO intelligent, respectful, loving, and truly made the experience for me. I cannot wait to return someday! Thank you for everything❤️

Honestly this volunteer experience was not what I expected it to be. The home stay has unreliable plumbing, electricity, running water, and a cockroach issue which led me to move out and find somewhere else to live a month into my stay. I did not feel like my help was needed during summer camp because the school was overstaffed. I ended up observing more than I actively participated. I was suppose to be in Cabarete for two months but because of these reasons I decided to fly home two weeks early. I wish I would have known these things before committing to coming.

We did our best to support you and offered different ways to contribute, including creating your own activities for the children, although none were ultimately proposed. Observation is also an important part of the Montessori approach.

My experience at the school was absolutely incredible. The school's team was very welcoming and helpful with all the questions and doubts I had during my stay in the Dominican Republic. I loved the school's facilities and activities: my work was dynamic and my schedule flexible, so I also had the chance to travel and do other activities. I would highly recommend choosing this program because it gave me great knowledge about the schools functioning and it made me understand how life in the country looks like.

I am very happy with my volunteer work at the 3 Mariposas Montessori School. The staff welcomed me very warmly. It was a wonderful experience living in the local community of La Ciénaga. I highly recommend it and I plan to return soon.
I am returning to Brazil, happy to have contributed a little to the school and deeply grateful for the warm welcome.
