This was my first volunteer experience and it was really good. Everyone was so welcoming, kind and helpful if I needed anything. I enjoyed free tours, good lunches and good acomodation. The island is beautiful and quiet. I enjoyed walking 25min to the beach and saw monkeys on the way there. The work was easy and exactly as agreed. It was lovely to be apart of the hostal for a little while. Thank you.

I really enjoyed this experience, I had a lot of fun and met some great locals. The Hostal team Allison, Yelitza, and Celli really made me feel at home and was helpful with anything I needed, they showed great kindness. The work is simple and straightforward and the hours give you enough time to explore the surrounding islands. I went on a few free tours where I saw dolphins, sloths, monkeys, and other wildlife in their natural habitat. I had one roommate, private bathroom, and A/C the accommodations were great. The island is quiet but the main Island is less than a 10 minute boat ride.

I could help creating content for the hostel’s instagram account and also taking rooms and breakfast pictures to update them in the OTAs. The shifts hours were totally flexible and I stayed in a room with 1 more volunteer.
The hostel is located at Bastimentos Island, which is very quiet and there’s not much to do, so it’s perfect for those looking for time for themselves and a really chill place.
I 100% recommend this opportunity, I enjoyed a lot my time at Hostal Cay. Thank you Ali and all the team🙏🏾

This was an unforgettable experience! The work was very simple and easy to manage, and the environment was amazing. The team and fellow volunteers made me feel completely at home from day one. My stay in the hostel was wonderful. This is a charming place in a very calm and destressing Island. Alison the host is very kind and worried about the wellness of her volunteers. I had an amazing time in Bastimentos, Bocas del Toro! The town felt very safe, which made the experience even more enjoyable. the hostel is absolutely beautiful, located right over the water, offering stunning views and peaceful. Alison and her family were incredibly kind and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed. Their hospitality truly made the experience special.
