The community is amazing! I Can't recommend it enough! The accomodations were comfortable, clean and cozy. The work we did was fair and fun. Most of the time we ate lunch and dinner with everyone in the community and almost all of the meals, that we cooked ourself, were based off the fruit and vegetables that we could harvest in the garden. There are also a lot of community events going on in Maleny, which helps with connecting to other people from around town. the community is truly a hidden gem that I would happily visit again!

It's been so amazing living with Andrew! I've learned so much about permaculture and everything has been as agreed upon as well. Recommend to all!

I enjoyed using these two weeks to take it slow and live simply. There was always enough food going round (arguably too much sometimes) and lots of time spent outdoors. It wasn't as social as I expected, but that's partially due to the eb and flow of who happens to be there. The work was mainly weeding, which got monotonous after a bit, but knew it was work that was needed. Sometimes the work wasn't best communicated, but when we worked towards a common goal, like building a path, it felt more fulfilling.
Local music nights, the electric bikes and lucky good weather were a plus! Thanks :)

I really enjoyed my time at the community village. Everyone was warm, friendly, and welcoming, and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful. There are plenty of places to socialise, like the kitchen area, as well as quiet corners where you can enjoy some solitude—such a great balance. The tasks were generally relaxed, and there was plenty of free time to explore the Maleny area. Thank you, Andrew and Tammy, for the wonderful experience.

This was my first work exchange programme and it honestly exceeded all my expectations! Even though I was at the village for just a week, I learned so much about both creating a sustainbile community but also so much from impacts of colonialisation to being more mindful! I'm always hesitant when I see somewhere say they're 'like a family' as I think it's a buzz word, but from start to finish, Tammie and Andrew made a genuine family feel which was inclusive and authentic. Super grateful for this experience!

Beautiful project and beautiful people! 100% recommend it, specially if you are looking for a place that actually puts into practice sustainability and a simple healthy lifestyle. I would suggest to bring work boots, or gum boots, as it can get a bit muddy if it rains

I have to thank Andrew for his flexibility and kindness as I had one of the most transformative and personally significant expereinces with the beautiful combination of people I met during my stay. It wasn't what I expected and was so much more valuable than I could've dreamed of. The magic of this place and the surrounding area is pulsating, vivid, alive, and very readily apparant. I was barefoot always. I was laughing more often than not. I felt welcomed and loved and free. Thank you!! 🫂🌲🌾🦌

Noah, to witness, and be a part of, your transformation was a privilege. You are always welcome here - tho I can’t guarantee another transformation like it next time :)

You have a lovely nature, are a pleasure to be around. Quiet, hardworking, respectful, gentle, empathetic, caring and funny. You deserve the best that life has to offer. Thank you for sharing yourself with our little community.

I was there my first month of Australia and I really loved it. It is a really amazing community, who will always fulfill all your needs and you will really have a great experience. The day I arrived I already felt comfortable and Andrew really is the best host, really flexible and always there for you. I met some amazing people, from all around the world, who I will miss very much. You will also learn a lot about living the community friendly and learning about Australia's nature and ecosystems.

I had a lovely time at the the community village. Everyone was very kind and welcoming and the place is beautiful. There are many spots for when you want to socialise like the kitchen area but also spots where you can have some alone time; it's the perfect balance. The tasks were most of the time pretty chill and you get enough free time to explore the area around Maleny. If I had any questions Andrew was always there to help! I would definitely recommend this experience.
