Kris and Andreas were excellent hosts! They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at-home while we were volunteering. They showed us the local area, shared an abundance of local history with us, and included us in community events. Our space was a totally private studio apartment, which combined with the large, beautiful gardens surrounding the home meant we had a peaceful, quiet stay. I would recommend this volunteering experience to anyone who enjoys gardening or wants to learn more (as Kris is a great teacher), or who's looking to explore Moray county with some locals.

Staying at the home with Kris and Andreas was a wonderful experience! the home and the grounds themselves are such a magical place to stay in, and we were taken around to niche local places as well as a couple of tourist spots, so we got a good range of experiences and sights. I learned a lot, and got to connect with Kris and Andreas as well as their friends and community. This was a great start to our international travels.

Spent a wonderful month with Kris and Andrea! They were very welcoming and friendly, shared so much local information and history , prepared us hot lunch each day ( Kris is an amazing chef), and took us on outings, and immersing us in local culture/ activities. The work was mainly in the beautiful big garden as there was only 1 set of guests at the time. Definitely would recommend utilising the bicycles , the countryside is wonderful to cruise around!

This was our first World Packers experience and it was fantastic. Kris and Andreas were helpful, welcoming and eager to share their experiences and knowledge. They invited us to outings and community experiences, while also respecting our arranged plans, opting to make up the volunteer hours on the weekend. Tasks were straightforward and manageable and the delicious cooked lunch made by Kris everyday was perfect after a day's work. We're grateful for this experience !

I had such an amazing time with Andreas and Kris. Most of my hours took place outside in the garden which was a variety of tasks where I learned quite a bit. We also went on several outings to explore the local area including mushroom hunting and to the beach! Hours were honored and the accommodation was perfect. Highly recommend.

I had a nice quiet time in the highlands. Everything was just as described. The accommodation was comfortable. The work was manageable and never too difficult, especially good if you like to clean and garden. Kris is a magnificent chef and Andreas is a wonderful story teller. They were fantastic hosts and companions. I loved learning about the history the home area, meeting locals at the home, biking around the nearby fishing villages, and reading in the garden. Kris and Andreas were so friendly and kind, it almost felt like I was visiting distant relatives. The tasks are just the usual cleaning and maintenance for a b&b, same thing with gardening. Working hours and free days are very respected and you can plan in advance with them. If you love being outdoors, gardening (that's important!) and saying in a quiet and relaxing place, this is it! Kris and Andreas took me to day-trips around Scotland, and they were so welcoming and nice about just opening their day to day life to me. I really appreciate how included I felt. It was an amazing experience♥️

I had a really good time in Urquhart! Andreas and Kris were always welcoming and very friendly. The place is quiet and after work you have time to wander around, by walking or bike. I was happy to join Andreas and Kris for Sunday the home, the Highland games or trip to the Abbey. Thank you and I hope you will have the same good experience as me:)

This was my first volunteering experience and I enjoyed it. It was a beautiful experience. The place is gorgeous and the accommodation provided is excellent. What stood out the most for me were the meals after work (great food and conversations) and the peaceful atmosphere. I totally recommend it—if you're looking to disconnect, this is the perfect place.
