I had an amazing experience at 5 Elements Hostel. Everything was exactly as agreed and the stay was great. The team is lovely and made me feel very welcome from the first day. The 5 Elements Hostel was a great volunteer experience for me! Leadership is great and communicative, friendly, the other volunteers were international and great to work with as well. The area right around it is a little dicey but still safe compared to other countries and if you walk 3 blocks your out of the area and can be right by the river which was my favorite place to wander along during my stay! If you're staying for a month recommend get the DB ticket and exploring nearby cities, like Heidelberg! Great volunteer spot and great people! Dankeschön 🙏

The experience was mainly positive because of the other volunteers and housekeepers of the hostel. The management team didn't offered support most of the times and didn't showed any interest or whatsoever towards the volunteer team. Justas was welcoming and we had good conversations, Alice (the assistant for the manager) was always helpful and kind. As soon as I arrived, I also didn't got any tour around the hostel and facilities. I luckily had a friend volunteering with me that showed me around. The dinner system worked, but caused a bit of stress at times. With the right group u can have fun

It was a good experience for my personal goal of staying in the city after but I had some situations that made the stay a bit difficult, for example one day having to spend money for dinner cause there was a confusion Regarding the volunteers dinner. I believe that things we agree must be respected or compensated which wasn't the case for one day. Besides that Alicia is the best possible! Others in the management can improve a bit on social interaction and problem solving but we all here for improvement!

What I really liked about this volunteer Experience was the coworkers and other volunteers and some cool people you can meet in the hostal. The main managers (except for Sofi and Justas) don't show any interest in getting involved with the persons they work with. Sometimes the workday can get packed having to make housekeeping/maintenance work + activities for the guests + volunteers dinner. The place where you stay is very good, staying with only 4 other people in a good apartment and the freedom they give is nice. The zone where the project is, is not pretty but isn't unsafe
