The experience

We are looking for volunteers to help animals staying at our shelter. We have currently more than 200 dogs living at the shelter and farm animals like pig, goats, buffaloes, and cows and they need help in bathing, walking, grooming, feeding, cleaning the shelter and basically taking good care of them. Also, Vet students who are willing to do internship are welcome.


What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 150 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers

Description: We charge US $150 per week for the accommodation, and food. Three times vegan meal is served, and we provide healthy and secure environment for the best experience.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Tours: Get discounts for tours and excursions around town.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Activities & Shift

- Ask if there are any updates on dogs, new dogs to the shelter, dogs in quarantine, or any behavior to watch out for particularly.
- Spend some time with dogs, brushing and grooming.
- Make sure to check in the dog's ears, look for ticks, make sure that mucous membranes of the mouth look pink and healthy.
- Look out for dogs with low mood or those not being sociable. In that case, report to Shelter technical in charge/ Veterinarian.
- Check water bowls are clean and refill with water in every area.
- Go around the playground and grassy area, make sure that there is nothing unsuitable, i.e., sharp objects, trash or any other stuff that can cause harm to the dogs etc. Use rubbish bins on site.
- Cleaning regimen starts after dogs have been fed. Hose down all concrete areas. In dog kennels, put wooden beds up, brush and scrub all surfaces. This is essential to keep dogs happy and healthy.


Rules

Volunteering with Sneha's Care allows you to make a positive impact on the world! We want to ensure that your experience is a safe and enjoyable one, so we expect all of our volunteers to follow these simple rules:
-Refrain from causing any damage or loss to our property as a result of your own behavior or that of anyone for whom you are responsible.
-Alert us two weeks in advance if you need to cancel your volunteering trip.
-Avoid any activities that may be harmful towards animals at the sanctuary.
-Smoking is not allowed inside the animal sanctuary/ accommodation at any given time.
-Mutual respect towards other volunteers in shared rooms is key; bullying, sexual harassment, racism/discrimination, and disrespectful comments are prohibited.
-Consuming animal products are not allowed within the animal sanctuary and the volunteer house.
