I had a great experience in the magic forrest, Bouwie was really nice to me the hole time, super comprehensive and friendly, maybe it was the only experience I had that I wasn't feeling like working for someone at all. The place its really nice, I had plenty of time to ride bicycles and to enjoy cities around, the volunteers room is comfortable and I had no problems to adapt with the community way of living. Although the time schedule is not fixed ( which for me is a really good thing) Bouwie was always asking me how I was feeling about the work and there was no pressure at all.

Volunteering in the magic forest is a fantastic experience if you are searching disconnect of the normal life and connect with your own in a little forest working with plants and the land and learning a lot about sustainability and be self-sufficient, The place is in a wonderful environment next to river and Bouwie is a really good persona that will be your manager and the same your friend, he is always teaching you about the land and making you feel comfortable, I learnt a lot in this volunteering .Really nice experience

Bouwie is a nature lover who is eager to explain how things work. He has been very hospitable and approachable. Good place to get into touch with nature and escape all the distractions of today's world. The work activities were mostly physical, which was communicated initially. Overall a great and unique experience.

Bouwie is a good man, very polite and intelligent who lives in harmony with nature. But my experience wasn't very good because he doesn't respect working hours, the advertisement say 25 hours a week, which is 5 hours a day, but there were days when I worked 6 to 7 hours a day. We started at 10am, stopped 30 minutes for lunch and then returned to work. It's not the kind of volunteering where you work a few hours and then can enjoy the day exploring the sorroundings there no time to do anything unrelated to work. The hygiene of the place is almost nonexistent.

Unexpected. I always say to guests that Dutch like people to be upfront and share what they need, you shared only positive things. Out of the 100+ guests, you are the 1st to mention hours and hygiene. In the 1st week we worked 4,5 days, incl. more than 5 h. of giving tours, if you count that we made 30 hours. The 2nd week you could make your own schedule and compensate. My place is in the middle of a forest & building activities around. I try to keep the living spaces clean (in terms of health).

I had such a beautiful experience! Bouwie is such a kind and welcoming soul. He does a great job of ensuring you're comfortable and feel you have space to ask questions and prioritize your boundaries. I would recommend this experience to anyone wanting to learn more about the community-the community living and life- I learned so much. Even being the community-the community and in The Forest, Bouwie made sure to show me Dutch culture and traditions as I shared I wanted to learn all about it when I arrived. 3 weeks wasn't long enough, and I will definitely miss all the great cooking and sense of community.

Had an amazing time here. It is such a beautiful area and bouwie is such a caring person. I loved getting to know the land and the people here. I was here in autumn and really want to come back in the summer to enjoy a swim in the river and experience more sunny days however, autumn was still so beautiful and created such a cozy vibe. I didn't get to see the others in the community so much but that was okay as I liked having some independence and alone time

The magic forest which such an amazing experience!! I got the opportunity to improve my gardening, construction, and general handyman knowledge whilst still being able to absorb all the beautiful nature around me. I don't know if it's listed but one of my favourite things to do was take a dip in a nearby stream when I had free time. The food was great, all from the community garden, forest, or locally sourced. The accomodation was very cozy as well. And of course the main man himself Bouwie is such a generous, fun-loving guy and Im sure anyone would have a blast!

This is the perfect place for anyone who wants to learn about sustainability and permaculture. Bouwie will welcome you into his home with open arms, and do everything possible to make you comfortable. During my two weeks here I got to develop my green thumb and live the community and completely immersed in nature. The living village community is wonderful, and everyone in the forest was so nice. I got to exist in their community and help out around the project and coexist with nature. Thank you Bouwie and everyone else in the village for a wonderful experience!

Hello. I must confess I was hesitant about starting my volunteer program with Bouwie since he didn't have many reviews. However, I must say it was the best decision for my first volunteer experience. Simply put, Bouwie is someone you'll love from start to finish. He's always attentive from your arrival to your last day. The place is wonderful, as you'll be in the forest surrounded by very kind and warm people. You'll have plenty of opportunities to relax, and if you like to meditate, what better place than this. Bouwie cooks exquisite dishes, and you'll never go hungry, believe me

Hi there! Talking about Bouwie 🤔 He's a kind and wise man who always treats you like an equal. You know he is the host, but he is always there to teach you and explain (sometimes more than 3 times 🫠) the things you should do. I've stayed there for 3 weeks, and the time went by so fast. I learned a lot, and I have only just started to assimilate. Being part of Bouwie's project means being part of a beautiful community where everyone helps each other. It's really nice to have this kind of experience, so I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn and help be part of this beautiful project.
