Thank you so much SMK NURA DARMA for having me in Central Lombok. It was a special time and I will never forget it. I was truly immersed in the local culture and had experiences I never dreamed of. I even got the opportunity to attend two weddings. The teachers and students were so appreciative to have someone to practice English with. In terms of the living conditions - I had a private room at the the school - my bedroom was nice and the bathroom had a western toilet and a tap with a bucket to shower with. They accommodated to my vegan diet and I got to try the local food.

I had the honor of spending 3 weeks teaching at this nonprofit Islamic the school in Indonesia, and I'd give it a 5/5. The students were remarkable — determined, full of adab, imaan, and a real love for learning. the the school truly needs volunteers, and every bit of help makes a difference. The host family and staff treated me like family, and the accommodation, food, and support were all excellent. I highly recommend this to any teacher passionate about making a difference!!

So much more than just volunteering at the village schools! Students were incredibly kind and welcoming. I loved taking part in school life, and I even had the honor of giving a speech during the graduation ceremony at one of the schools. But this stay was so much more than that: living with Murdan and his family was an exceptional experience. They welcomed me like one of their own and did everything to share their culture with me (cooking, local experiences, sharing daily life). A true human immersion that I highly recommend! ✨

If you want to experience a truly local way of living in Lombok, como stay with Murdane. I learned so much about their culture, and he event took me to some events that were taking place there, and to other villages around the island. He and his family will make you feel welcomed and they really care about your well-being. If you have the chance, come here: the young people of Mujur need all the help and motivation they can get to learn English. Everyone was so excited to meet the new foreigner and they were always friendly.

I loved my experience with Murdane and his family. We taught English to a range of classes for a couple hours each weekday (flexible) and visited some other schools. It was lovely being able to meet all the children of different ages and many of them were excited to learn English and practise speaking with us out of class time. During my stay, Murdane invited me to events that were happening including his new baby's ceremony, a haj celebration farewell and a wedding. The accommodation is simple and authentically shows how the locals live, and they are all so warm and welcoming.

I spent 18 beautiful days in the village. My experience was truly immersive and local. I enjoyed learning about Sasak culture and Islam. Murdane and his whole extended family are truly kind, welcoming and I was very well taken care of. I had a private room and the food was delicious. the the school days can be a bit hectic, since the schedule differs every day. However, the students are really curious and smart. I really recommend this experience, if you want to experience something truly local. I can't wait to come back, thank you for this amazing experience! :)

This experience has been one of the best experiences of my life. I taught English at the the school and everything was super nice. The students are very polite and they are eager to learn. I had a lot of fun teaching here. If you want to have a local experience while teaching English this is the best place to come. the school and all of the teachers will help you in everything you need. This was my first volunteering experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Dane and his whole family were incredibly kind and supportive. They helped me every step of the way, even up to the last day, always with a smile. I grew very fond of them, they have a beautiful family with such big hearts... Working with the kids was pure joy. They filled me with energy and I learned a lot from them. I'm leaving with a new friends, and memories I'll never forget.
