I had a very positive & rewarding experience at the school. The children (and their parents) are incredibly warm, friendly & open, which creates a very pleasant atmosphere. The support on site is well organized - you feel very welcomed & supported throughout your stay. For future volunteers, it may be helpful to know: You may be the only volunteer on site - which means teaching 15–30 students between 5 and 14 years at the same time, without a fixed curriculum. This can be challenging and tiring over time. Be prepared to plan lessons independently & adapt them to the students needs.

It was wonderful to be part of this project! I was warmly welcomed by the team, the children, and the community; everyone was very helpful and attentive to what was needed. The space is simple, but the people there make it special. Teaching English is a major challenge, given the mix of children and adolescents at various proficiency levels; it requires creativity and flexibility in lesson planning. I see this as a great opportunity—not only to teach English but also to learn about the culture and life itself. I am grateful to everyone!

It was my first volunteering experience with Worldpackers. Teaching English to Thai students was absolutely fun and rewarding at the same time. Keeping them engaged for four hours required some preparation, but with a bit of creativity, it was definitely possible. It was also great meeting volunteers from different countries and sharing the experience together. I'd happily do it again.

My experience at the school Guesthouse was very nice. the school showed us around in the area and made a lot of time for us. Zuag, the assistent of the school, was so nice and she made some lovely food for us. Teaching the children was great as they were interested and respectfull. The place itself is very peacefull and walking distance from shops. You can also use the scooter. Would really recommend! Thank you for everything.

My Stay at Nadines House felt way shorter than 2 weeks :) Even though Nadine couldn‘t be in Thailand for my stay, Tsong and everyone else in the village was extremely kind and welcoming. The village itself is very small and peaceful and you can always do day trips to Chiang Mai or relax there in your free time. Working with the children was such an amazing experience. They are all so polite and sweet, which made it very fun to teach them! You definitely have to be a bit creative planning your lessons and properly engaging them but it‘s definitely doable. I would recommend this to everyone :)

My stay at the school's house was amazing because of the lovely place, the lovely locals and the lovely volunteers. I was sadly not lucky enough to meet the school as she wasn't in Thailand during my stay, but Tsong who lives in the place with her son is wonderful. Everyone is so eager to learn English, wich makes it enjoyable to be a teacher. The place is located near a lot of activities, and because you have a lot of free time you get to explore a lot. It is really handy that you teach right next to were you sleep and eat, so there isn't any transport at all.

My stay at the school, was a really nice time, the children are super polite and sweet. the school was bringing me to waterfalls and to other nice location on the free days. What you want to teach the children is totally up to you, but you wont get any help preparing or making the classes( which leaves space for creativity) The property is really big but about 40 minutes from Chiang Mai center( that makes it closer to lots of activities) I would recomment the school to other Volunteers :)

Our time at the school was filled with much joy and wholesome moments, all thanks to the amazing kids and support staff Tsong and Lee. The work is rewarding and the kids are very well behaved! The area is peaceful but not very far from bustling Chiang Mai and some great natural sites. Unfortunately, the management team weren't on site during our tenure, and communication and organisation could've been improved. It also has to be said that actual work time is closer to 30 hours rather than the 20 hours advertised, when taking into account lesson prep time and additional students.

Teaching at the school is a good opportunity if you're looking to gain hands-on experience in planning and delivering lessons. The kids are well-behaved and they make the experience very rewarding. It does take approx. additional 5h per week to prepare all your lessons, and you may have additional students outside of your schedule. During our stay, there wasn't any management on site, which made the communication challenging and we lacked guidance at times. Tsong, who prepared our meals, was wonderful, and the food was very good — thank you for taking such great care of us!

Had a fulfilling experience teaching the local hmong students, learning about their culture and language. Thank you so much Chua and So for your hospitality and warmth- you guys made it feel like home! Lots of walks, local food and waterfalls nearby. Perfect place to contribute to a non for profit orginisation whilst living among peaceful rice fields.
