Naomi and Chris are great hosts, we couldn't ask for better hosts for our first volunteer experience! They were both patient and always gave us clear instructions. The tasks varied from weeding and fruit handpicking to planting and fixing the crops. For this reason we recommend bringing technical clothing and trekking shoes/ boots, even though Chris and Naomi will always lend you something if needed!
We spent a lot of time in the kitchen, helping Naomi out with the meals, which were always delicious, and also prepared dishes from our own cultures. We made such great memories! :)

The experience was great! We had a really good time there and we really enjoyed. Toko chan was the best, Rocky was really funny and Miko really cute. During our stay we did a lot of things, we went to two festivals, the one in Minowa and in Ina, we went to Daio Wasabi farm and toured around Matsumoto!\nChris and Naomi, thank you very much for opening your home to us, till next time!\nI recommend these experience if you like farm life, meeting locals and traveling around in a different kind of Japan.\nThe food was delicious and very healthy, a lot of natural products that we harvested and cooked!

This was my first volunteer, and I had a really great time staying with Naomi and Chris. They made me feel very welcome and were also really good at accommodating any requests I had. The farm work was a hard and interesting experience, but Naomi was so sweet to bring us snacks when we were picking beans in the hot sun. The meals were delicious, and helping Naomi cook in the evening was so lovely. They both also showed an interest in our different cultures and let us make something from each of our countries. I'm so grateful I got to learn some new skills and spend time with amazing people!

My staying at long hills the guest house was amazing, Naomi and Chris are such lovable people! The work is exactly what you can expect for farm work, and the hours of work are respected. The food is amazing, Naomi is such a great chef! The accommodation was really good, and there's many things to do in Minowa town!I highly recommend this experience!

The two owners were incredibly kind and welcoming. Even though they were busy, they took the time to teach us many things. I learned a lot during my stay, especially about farming and cooking. I also felt that this is a great environment for people who enjoy communicating with people from different countries. I was told that most of the other volunteers are usually international visitors.

I had a lovely time in the guest house! Naomi and Chris are amazing hosts (and really cool human beans 🫛😉), who made us feel very welcome. We had a comfortable bedroom, and excelent bikes to explore the town and the beautiful parks around it. The food was plenty and always delicious! We had breakfast, lunch and dinner on the days we worked, and, during these shared meals, we could talk and learn a lot about Japanese culture. We worked early in the morning, mostly picking and sorting blueberries and green beans. It was hard work, but also really fun! I'd love to come back one day :)

We had a great 3 weeks with Chris and Naomi at the guest house Guethouse. From the moment we arrived, they were incredibly warm, welcoming and friendly. They took their time to explain everything clearly and make us feel right at home. We spent the first week with Chris and Naomi before taking care of their house, pets and farms while they were away. They communicated well with us and were supportive during our stay. We really enjoyed helping out on the farms and learnt a lot about farming life. Being surrounded by the beautiful Japanese countryside made the experience even more special😊

My experience at the guest house with Naomi and Chris has been meaningful. I was only there for 2 weeks but I felt like we did a lot together and shared some great moments. I enjoyed helping them around the farm fields and garden with various tasks. We weeded blueberry, green beans, and other fields. We planted a cherry tree and many other baby plants that I am eager to get an update on! Rocky, Miko, and Toko are all nice to be around and together with Chris and Naomi create a nice environment. The food was also great. Thank you!

Absolutely loved my stay with naomi and chris at the guest house! it was my first volunteering experience ever and it really couldn't be better. they were both so kind, accommodating and fun to spend time with. learned a lot about japanese culture with naomi, especially loved cooking with her and getting to know all the special ingredients she uses. with chris i enjoyed learning more about sustainable farming and loved the time being outside in nature, doing something meaningful and seeing the real impact it had. would highly recommend coming here, will never forget this amazing experience.
