This was such a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Dika and Yoan could not have been more welcoming. They took me on several excursions around Binjai, introducing me to local food, touristic sights, and meeting their friends and community members. Expectations for morning and afternoon classes were very clear and communicated well. I feel so grateful for this experience and for all the kindness Dika and his family showed me. I would highly recommend this if you would like to have an authentic Indonesian experience!

Dika and his family were very welcoming and accommodating to me. I had such a fun time here, the community and the kids are angels to be surrounded with. I felt truly at home, the volunteering itself was very chill, and the accommodation was also comfortable and cosy for a solo traveller.

I spent 1 week at Dika and Yoan's place in Binjai and I really felt welcome ! The little house for volunteers is convenient and the family is so kind and understanding. Unfortunately, my stay took place during the school holidays, so I didn't get the chance to really teach English or meet the children at the school. However I still had a great time, met the teachers and helped them a bit prepare for the new school year. I really enjoyed this experience and had a great time in Binjai !

I spent just under two weeks with Dika and his family and it was an amazing experience! In the morning, you walk with him to his school and help to teach young children until about midday. In the evening, you might have some conversational practice with older students at his home. Outside of that your time is free. Take a walk with the village children, ride around Binjai with Dika's students, or relax in your mini-home. I had the opportunity to go to a local football match, take a day trip to Lake Toba, and really explore Binjai. I loved every second of it and would 100% recommend!

This was a very immersive experience and I'm glad that I got to spend a week here. Dika was an amazing host and principal for the school that he runs. The community was amazing and I felt like a celebrity with the amount of people that wanted to say hi and talk to me. The kids were also amazing and it was fun working with them. Dika showed me around and I got to try a whole lot of tasty street/local food :)

I was very lucky to go here for my first experience with Worldpackers. Dika and his family were all very welcoming, it was amazing to experience their kindergarten and local area. Dika was super helpful with transportation and recommending things to see and try. I'm very grateful and thankful for my time here, an experience I won't forget ☺️
