It's been great to spend my days there, I feel grateful to Lucas and Lua for all the things I learned – about the agroflorestal system, raising bees, capoeira – all the good moments we shared together, all the opportunities I had to deepen my connection with nature – there's a wonderful cachoeira right in the backyard! I'll visit them once again the next year. Valeu meus amigos, tamo juntos!

Thank you Lua and Lucas for the wonderful stay. We stayed for three weeks and our work included gathering and pulping caja and acai, as well as planting and pruning trees. We really enjoyed the capoeira classes in the evenings and the beautiful waterfall on the farm. At the weekends we were able to explore the nearby islands. There were lots of other volunteers so there was a lovely sociable atmosphere during our time on the farm.

Lua and Lucas are wonderful hosts! The farm is beautiful, with a waterfall and many fresh fruits. The setup makes it very easy to connect with other volunteers, and although it is quite remote you have the chance to explore Bahia at the weekends. I really enjoyed our stay here, thank you for welcoming us!

Lua and Lucas were super nice and friendly. What was unlucky for me that I was the only volunteer there at the time and so, also because I am not fluent in Portuguese, I lacked the social aspect during this experience. The place is very remote so nothing really is nearby, that's great when you want to slow down completely and connect with nature. I did things that I've never done before like harvesting cacao or eating exotic fruits like rambutan. I think it could be the best time with other volunteers that you get along but because I was the only one I felt a bit lonely at times.

For me the perfect experience. I was looking for a place 2 settle down for a while, use my body, b in a calm & natural environment, have the chance 2 learn Portuguese & about sustainable agriculture, space for myself & little projects & train Capoeira. It was all that & more! A beautiful & kind family, beautiful piece of land with a river & small waterfalls. Usually 4 hours of hard work & then you'll have plenty of free time 2 explore. The land has an abundance of delicious foods, I'm going 2 miss this a lot. Communication sometimes went wrong, but by good intentions it never caused problems.

I had an amazing time at the farm! Lua and Lucas are very welcoming, friendly, and kind hosts. They are also so knowledgeable about agroforestry. While I was there I mostly worked by myself, and did some hoeing/weeding, seed saving, and planting. I recommend this farm to other Worldpackers! Muito obrigada Lua, lucas e Tito!

We had a great time in the farm. The place is beautiful surrounded by diverse nature. The hosts Lua and Lucas were very friendly and careful as well as the workers and neighbours. We learn a lot on agroforestry and local agriculture. We wish we have stayed longer. Thanks for everything Lua and Lucas!

My experience at the farm was really awesome and super enriching! I learned a lot about agroforestry, agroecology, and “saberes de roça” (farm know-how), haha. I was able to read good books that Lua and Lucas lent, river baths and resting in the hammock. I went with Lucas to the Tenonde quilombo, an experience that I really enjoyed. The capoeira classes are awesome too! I had a great relationship with Lua, Lucas and Tito, always kind, understanding and willing to answer my many questions! It was a great experience, I feel very grateful 😁🙏

My experience at Caraípe Farm went far beyond what I expected! I had no idea of the impact that getting closer and building intimacy with new people would have on me — those were magical and challenging days beyond fieldwork, and the more time passes, the more I miss those days!
The farm is run by a beautiful and welcoming family; they helped me in moments when I didn't even expect support... I carry Juma and Rico in my heart.
The work on the farm is physically demanding. So, be sure to bring appropriate clothes and footwear, for the transport to check the farm and the meals.
