My experience in Quilotoa was incredible. I had the opportunity to teach English at the community school. I shared quality time with the children and the community members. By the way, the host is a good person to all the volunteers. I felt at home.

It was a special week for the volunteering, I was supposed to work 1h everyday with kids, teaching them English, but it was Easter so school opened only 2 days. Beside, I was doing the dishes in the kitchen of a restaurant for 3h a day, not what I prefer. Accommodations and meals were really good ! And Ronald the owner is full of traveling stories ☺️

The host is a magical place in the mountains, an incredible location on the crater rim, that you won't tire of seeing, the activities vary; they need help with social media, cooking, and attending to guests, but it's relaxed. Quilotoa is an indigenous town in the Andes, so you will hear a lot of their language spoken, which is very beautiful to keep alive; perhaps it's difficult to connect with some, but there are people who do wish to share. The food is tasty, they care that you are comfortable and you should be prepared for the cold, but the room has a fireplace and sleeping there isn't even necessary as long as you are in bed.
