I stayed at Mouries Farm for 3 weeks and I would absolutely recommend it! The island Skyros is a truely unique and beautiful place which I got to discover in my free time. The other volunteers were super nice and Manolis, the owner, always tried his best to make us feel at home!

I had a great experience volunteering here. I really enjoyed my time on the farm, surrounded by nature and animals like the farm, donkeys, and many cats. The main task is feeding the animals, but there are also other activities like helping with maintenance, which keeps things interesting. I also met wonderful volunteers, which made the experience even better. The location is beautiful and perfect if you're looking to disconnect and be close to nature. The hosts were amazing, very kind, welcoming, and always supportive, which made the whole experience even more special.

I had an amazing time at the farm in Skyros! Lovely the farm, donkeys and cats that you get to look after! You're definitely working for your bed, but it's worth it for the caravan in winter and the breakfast and lunch! The shop is an easy 30 min walk away but it's a bit pricey, I would recommend doing the scenic 2 hour walk into Skyros town to see the acropolis and monastery and to go to the bigger and cheaper supermarket. Hitchhiking was super easy around the island, everyone is very lovely and I felt safe as an 18 year old solo female traveler. Met the lovely manolis and made lots of friends.

My time at the farm was alright. The tasks consisted on feeding the farm and donkeys plus filling up boxes with hay (during winter time). I had to do everything on my own for a week which was doable, but is better if you have someone else with you, as you can split the tasks and do the boxes together as is the most annoying thing to do (on my perspective). When the weather was good I was able to explore a bit of the island by foot.

Skyros is incredibly beautiful - you have both mountains and the sea close so there’s always something to do for everyone. When I was there the work consisted mostly of feeding the horses. The animals are all very nice. You get food at the tavern which is very good in my opinion.

The experience was great to a certain level. The volunteers, beaches and the farm were the highlight of it. However, we didn't have mugs in the camping site for coffee or tea in the mornings. They provided us with bread, honey and Nutella, and that's about it. The page description stated work from 9am-1pm in the mornings, but they made me work one more hour. I talked about this with Danae and agreed to work only half an hour more. In the end I had to leave some days earlier because the allergy in the barn was really bad, and the work was very hard and physical. It was still a nice experience

Work was ~5 hours daily, mostly feeding the farm, plus helping manage the Pony Club. The other volunteers were incredible people from all over the world, and honestly the best part of the trip. Skyros itself is stunning and barely touristy, so you get a real taste of authentic Greek island culture. That said, we had serious issues with the hosts, including being left without shelter during a storm. Several volunteers left early because of it and other serious problems. Would still recommend for the farm, the island, and the people. Just go in aware.

It was amazing!! I loved being around the farm and Manolis was always welcoming. The food was really good as well and I usually had enough left over for dinner. On my days off I was able to go to the beach since there are a few close by. There is a grocery store about a half hour walk but it can be expensive, so it's definitely worth it to go into Skyros for most things and it is very easy to hitchhike on the way. If you drink coffee though I recommend bringing some with you as it is quite expensive on the island. The only issue I had was with another volunteer who seemed to enjoy drama😬

The Island „Skyros“ is gorgeous and even though it was winter the ocean was still warm enough to swim in which was amazing. The farm are so cute and fluffy.

I had a wonderful stay! Everyone was incredibly friendly, and the ponies and cats were absolutely adorable. The surrounding landscape was stunning and made the whole experience even more special. I visited in November, which is off-season, but I was still able to swim in the sea.
