I've already volunteered in lots of other places and this has been for sure one of the best experience ever!
Sergio created the perfect vibes to enjoy and to feel like being into a family.
The work was simple and I enjoyed a lot helping decorate this amazing hostel.
Also the position is perfect: just few minutes walking distance from the center of San Cris.
Thank you again for everything, I really felt like home; I will come back for sure!

I went to ask if they were looking for volunteers and Sergio the owner was very kind, he is building a group of well-organized volunteers with specific and non-demanding tasks, I recommend this volunteering to everyone if you want to know San Cristobal and meet new people, I thank Sergio again and the whole team of the hostel❤️

We had a good time in SanCris and enjoyed most of the volunteering. The work was as agreed and we were able to work independently and take responsabilities early on!
It was before the high season an we were getting the hostel ready. Due to this, 3 of the 4 owners were there and some new workers (not Volunteers) were learning their job. It was chaotic.
The owners had a lot of differences which lead to disrespectful arguments between them and with theri workers (not with us). The comminication with each other was disrespectful and there was a lot of talk behind the back of the others.

I think this host was really flexible which was a good and a bad thing in both ways. I was able to spontaneously start earlier than planned which was awesome to me but I couldn't work at the bar. My job description was all about doing bartending but since the bar is not done yet, I ended helping at the reception. (This was due to me coming in earlier as the bar also hasn't been finished at my normal starting date)
At first this was okay for me as the place is really cozy. Unfortunately, I worked there at a time the managers weren't there so organization was lacked.

Great experience! The hostel has an atmosphere of cooperation and community. I met and connected with incredible people. I really enjoyed doing my carpentry activities and helping with the renovation of the place. I would definitely return.
