This was my first volunteer experience and it was incredible!!! Ana and Luis were very welcoming and I felt comfortable talking to them if there were any issues. They let you choose your own work schedule and days off which was very nice. I worked in reception, and connected well with the staff. I appreciate their patience with my Spanish, and they taught me a lot! (Special shoutout to Carmen!) Also, Carlos in the resturant was always friendly and kind. I wish I could have spent more time there, and definitely recommend volunteering at Hotel California to everyone!

My experience working at the reception was very fun and helped me improve my Spanish a lot. Speaking with guests and the reception team all day is probably the fastest way to advance in the language. I’m very grateful to Ana/Luis for welcoming me so kindly even before my arrival and answering all my questions, and to Andrea, who became a friend. The restaurant and maintenance teams are also wonderful. One thing to consider: if you work remotely, the internet may not be very stable, and I sometimes used the restaurant for meetings. The role supports receptionists, so you won’t be alone.

Amazing experience. I worked at reception and the tasks were very easy. They were very accommodating with my remote job and gave me weekends free to enjoy the city. Ana, Luis, and everyone in the kitchen are incredibly kind and welcoming—it truly feels like home. I had a great stay and can't wait to come back!!! This has definitely been my favorite volunteering experience by far!

My experience at the hotel was amazing and heartwarming. Staffs were extremely kind and friendly, I can never forget them. During my month there, my Spanish improved a lot too. The place was clean and excelllent, and the food made me fall in love with Mexican cuisine. I still haven't found Mexican food anywhere else that tastes as good as it did there haha

Hotel California was an amazing experience. We learned a lot in the cafe area and also in the kitchen are. Hours, shifts and days off are respected. You get 2 amazing meals per day, 2 days off. I had a really nice experience at this hostel and I highly recommend it. Ana and Luis are great hosts, the rules are respected, and it's very comfortable to live there. The hotel as my first Worldpackers experience has been the best thing that could have happened to me. It is very central, walkable, and also conveniently reachable by public transport to touristy places, and the hosts were always mindful that we as volunteers would take care to enjoy the experience to the fullest. They are truly valuable people; it's a pleasure to have been able to share with them, and with the hotel staff. They respect your decisions and you can reach consensus feeling welcomed. Undoubtedly, my heart is full from the warmth of the reception they showed during my stay.

Luis and Ana were incredible hosts, they made me feel at home at all times. They were very attentive, empathetic, and open to listening to ideas.
The experience was great because it allowed me to support the hotel, discover unique places, and above all, the Mexican culture. All the staff were polite and kind. The tasks were easy to carry out and the schedules were respected at all times.
