Volunteer With Community Growth Network – Homa Bay, Kenya 🌍

At Community Growth Network, we welcome volunteers from around the world to support our mission of empowering families and creating opportunities in Homa Bay, Kenya.

Volunteers stay with our family home, where we host up to three people at a time, creating a warm and authentic cultural experience. You can contribute in many ways — supporting teachers in local schools, helping with small building projects, mentoring youth, participating in community outreach, or helping us raise funds for sustainable programs. 🛠️📚

Our community faces challenges such as climate change, underfunded education, limited healthcare, and poor sanitation. Together with volunteers, we are rebuilding programs that empower women through tailoring, support vulnerable children, and strengthen community health and farming initiatives. 🌱

By joining us, you become part of a community working together to create hope, dignity, and lasting change. ❤️

Activities & Shift

Volunteer Activities & Shifts 🌍

As a volunteer with Community Growth Network, you will take part in meaningful activities that directly impact the lives of families, women, and children in Homa Bay. Depending on your skills, interests, and the needs of the community, you may support the following programs:

🩺 Community Health Support
Work alongside local caregivers at the community clinic by assisting with HIV/AIDS awareness and testing campaigns, hygiene education, and preventive health outreach that helps families live healthier lives.

📚 Teaching & Child Support
Help nurture and educate orphans and vulnerable children (ages 2–9). Volunteers can teach basic English and math, lead songs, storytelling, games, creative arts, and fun learning activities that inspire confidence and curiosity.

🧵 Vocational Skills & Women Empowerment
Support women and youth by helping with tailoring, embroidery, or sharing other practical skills that promote independence, entrepreneurship, and long-term economic empowerment.

📸 Media, Photography & Storytelling
Help document our work through photos, videos, and social media content to raise awareness, inspire others, and attract more supporters to our community initiatives.

💬 Fundraising & Community Outreach
Assist us in reaching new partners and supporters who can help sustain and grow programs such as education support, women’s empowerment, health initiatives, and sustainable farming projects.

⏰ Volunteer Schedule
Volunteer activities typically run 4–5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with flexible schedules. This allows plenty of time to relax, experience local culture, explore Homa Bay, and build meaningful connections with the community.
