Program Details
We're a small family running a boutique winery in Portugal's Vinho Verde region, and we recently had a baby. Life is busy, so we're looking for a responsible, proactive volunteer to help keep our home running smoothly.
What you get:
- A private modern room with your own bathroom and a balcony overlooking the vineyard and nature
- All meals covered: we buy the groceries and you cook your own food
- Free time to explore Porto, Guimarães, Braga and the Douro Valley.
- The chance to connect with locals and make new friends, as there are always people around the house
- Extra days off to travel further, if you wish
What we expect:
- A real sense of responsibility and initiative
- Someone who sees what needs to be done and does it without constant supervision
- Basic cooking skills.
Activities & Shift
Morning routine:
- Vacuum the kitchen
- Empty the dishwasher and put the dishes away
- Prepare breakfast for Tiago
During the day:
- Help keep the kitchen and living room tidy (this is where we spend most of our time with the baby)
- Occasionally cook simple home meals
- Help with other basic tasks around the house when needed
- In the evening put the dishes away/wash them and tidy the kitchen.
The rest of your time is yours: relax by the pool, explore nearby towns, watch movies or plan longer trips on your days off.
Rules
- Quiet hours between 9 PM and 8 AM (we have a baby)
- Leave shared spaces clean and organised after using them
- Be reliable: if you can't do a task or need a day off, let us know in advance
- Treat our home and family with respect
