Living with Howard in the home has been a great experience, one that I wish to repeat. Howard is great at teaching and instructing you in the work requested, the work was very physical demanding on the first weeks, but he compensated that by allowing us to work a few hours less, he always respected the agreed working hours. Although the house being restored it is very well equipped with heating, warm shower, kitchen and cleaning appliences. Howard is a great guy, inteligent and with a good sense of humor, this experience is great if your looking for a peacufull place to learn new skills.

Howard and his two Dogs are very welcoming in their house in the Irish countryside. Communication with Howard is straightforward, easy and dependable. The work I did was physically demanding but fair. Working hours were respected and there are breaks to have easy conversation and some builders tea.
I absolutely recommend staying with Howard if you don't expect a party hotspot, as the location is pretty remote. There are pubs around if you want to have a few beers and get into conversation with locals and you can explore the Irish countryside if you choose to do so.

This was truely a wonderful experience. We worked on a 200+ year old rock wall, something we don't have in Australia and the weather held out for all 9 days. I learnt so much and can take this new found knowledge with me. Howard is the perfect gentleman & has a lot on his plate with such a large project with many years of renovations ahead of him. I was treated to wonderful dinners & great conversation. I highly recommend this adventure but only if you're ready & willing to work & put in the honest effort & hours. Me and my partner Ben spent two weeks at the home and it was a great time. We learnt new skills, enjoyed the rural life and felt very welcome. Howard and his mate Glyn were always up for a good conversation, we took turns cooking and exchanged experiences. The two dogs, Angus and Minky are super lovely and always happy to be taken on a walk. We'd be happy to come back one day.

Me and Johanna really loved our time with Howard at the home. Howard is dedicated to the project he has going and is more than happy to get volunteers involved with all different tasks. He will thoroughly go through each task with you so you feel comfortable in what you are doing and is happy to answer any questions you have. You will be fed very well in return for some good work and will take turns in cooking each evening. We really enjoyed spending time with Howard and socialising over dinner with his friend Glyn with good conversation and some great puds :) Also lovely dogs!

My partner and I stayed with Howard for a week and had a great experience, if you're willing to get your hands dirty and get stuck in, this ones for you. We learnt many skills and shared a lot of stories with one another, Howard is a top guy! The home was welcoming and warm as well as the food. The 2 dogs were super sweet and their were also bicycles available to use. Highly recommend, we will be back, until then. 👋 🇮🇪🦮🍽

We spent 8 days at the home with Howard and his mate Glyn. A very entertaining duo to say the least. We had an amazing week learning about the area and sharing stories. The accomodation is perfect and the food was great. You will be expected to put in some hearty manual labour during your working days. If you're up for that kind of thing you'll have a great time. Wow, I could not have asked for a better experience! Howard made me feel right at home as soon as I arrived. I was happy to assist in renovations and build on my practical skill set. Some days were physically demanding, others were set aside for cleaning and organizing. We took turns preparing delicious meals. The home is beautiful, the views are great, the dogs are adorable, and Howard is a gracious teacher. The stay at the house was simply great. Howard is an amazing host, always asking if we are ok and explaining the tasks clearly. He make us feel completely comfortable and have good times together. The hours were respected and we could have time for ourselves. The tasks completely manageable, the food was always great and we cooked in turns. The place is amazing, far from cities and great to feel the peace of nature. If you want to feel welcomed, learn more about repairs, gardening and live like locals in the countryside, this is the perfect option for you.

My experience was amazing. There are beautiful views and historical sites nearby. A perfect place if you are looking to be close to nature and in peace. Howard, the host, is a gentleman and a one-of-a-kind. A high skilled worker who can teach you a lot and also share lots of stories. He has two dogs that are very sweet. The house itself is like a picture straight out of a book. The accommodations are clean and cozy. My job was outside, working in the garden. We took turns cooking and helping to keep the house clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this position and I'm very grateful for it
