Program Details
This is a hands-on cultural and rainforest experience based on mutual learning, curiosity and exploration. We are looking for travelers who enjoy nature, photography, video, creativity and working as part of a small local team.
During your stay, you may join us on rainforest expeditions around Bukit Lawang to explore different forest areas and document the biodiversity and landscapes we encounter. This can include photographing or filming wildlife, birds, plants, insects, caves, waterfalls, rivers and other interesting places, as well as documenting wildlife signs such as footprints, nests, feeding marks or scat. Wildlife encounters are naturally unpredictable, so we never guarantee sightings.
Depending on the needs of the project and your interests, you may also help with gardening, painting, decorating, simple repairs, creative projects, local cooking and improving our eco-glamping area.
We expect you to be curious, responsible, respectful of nature and local communities, willing to learn, and comfortable spending time outdoors. You don\'t need to be an expert photographer, conservationist or builder — enthusiasm and a willingness to contribute are more important.
In return, we will share our local knowledge, rainforest experience, culture, food and the places we know around Bukit Lawang. We want this to be a two-way exchange: you bring your own skills, ideas and perspective, while we share ours.
Some days may involve several hours outdoors in the forest, while other days can be more relaxed or focused on creative and local activities. We also want you to have enough free time to rest and explore independently.
As this is a new experience we are developing, we will communicate openly with you and adapt some activities according to your interests, abilities and the needs of the project.

We aim to keep the schedule flexible rather than following the same routine every day. Some field days may involve several hours outdoors, while other days will be lighter and focused on creative or local activities.
Wildlife encounters are never guaranteed. All forest activities are conducted with our local team and focus on responsible observation without chasing, feeding or disturbing wildlife.
