I really enjoyed my stay at the hostel!! The work was very easy and we often finished earlier. Since we had 3 days off a week I had a lot of time to explore Kyoto. The people I worked with felt like a family, and the manager Kosuke was always very friendly and if we needed anything we could always ask him! I definitely recommend this volunteer stay!

Volunteering at the hostel was wonderful! The location of the hostel is great and super accessible to public transportation/beautiful cultural sights. The work itself was straightforward - cleaning, checking in guests, and maintaining a nice environment. We were able to organize with Kenji to have 3 days off in a row, in which we travelled all around Japan! Kenji is super nice and friendly, and helped our month in Kyoto pass by smoothly! Would definitely volunteer here again :)

It's a good place... it just needs more attention, organization, and staff. And they need to organize the schedules better so that the volunteers feel more comfortable. And also respect each volunteer's rest days.

The hostel is in a great location, and I could easily walk to many places, which made it very convenient. I also really enjoyed meeting people from different countries, both guests and other volunteers, which made the experience fun and memorable.

The only downside was that sometimes there wasn't much to do because there were no check-ins, so I would end up spending most of the day without much to do. Overall, though, I had a good experience and enjoyed meeting so many different people.

I enjoyed staying here, the work was easy and other volunteers were sweet. However the host is a bit of a mysoginist. i would not feel very safe staying here alone as a woman. There were also a few cases of bedbugs, not while i was there, at least not in the dorm but it is an issue.

I stayed during the month of June, which isn't a busy period, so the work load was quite light as there weren't many check-in/out, and we finished earlier than expected. It's good to note that this isn't always the case depending on when you would volunteer. The living room layout is rather cosy and social, bringing people around 2 low tables. There is a surprising amount of cooking utensils, though the place wasn't very clean when I arrived. The staff dorm is in the basement, which in summer makes it cooler, but it's also damper. There was an issue with the dorm at some point.

I had a mixed experience. The location is amazing, and the work schedule was good: working 4 days a week, sometimes getting 3 free days in a row, which gave me lots of time to explore and travel. The hostel felt a bit disorganized at times, and there was a bedbug issue; I got very bad bites, but they paid for my medication, which I appreciated.
Overall, I had some good moments and some challenging ones. I would say just make sure your expectations match what the hostel offers.

Located very close to the Gion district, very good location to see the historical and cultural sites and temples. The host was flexible wih allowing my friend and I to have the same days off together so that we could travel on our days off. The second floor was closed so our shifts were shorter than expected.

Being here ate the hostel was a great experience to me. The place is very cozy and welcoming. I had the chance to make some friends and explore the city of Kyoto and surounds. It was really good. The shifts are good and the manager Patrik is a great man. He's someone I mirror myself to become a better manage in the future.

The location and the place itself were absolutely the best for enjoying everything Kyoto has to offer. It was the perfect base to experience the city. I had such a great time that I will definitely be back again! Highly recommended.
