Lukas and Miriam are such nice hosts, always making sure you have what you need 😊 My tasks included helping make garden beds, removing wired fence, clearing brambles and harvesting persimmons and nuts. I enjoyed this work a lot and was never overworked by them. I stayed in a cozy caravan that had a working stove and comfortable bed! You can da 20-30min bike ride to a beautiful local waterfall and also see the towns. The children are so playful and love to draw too. I had an amazing time! Thank you guys for everything!

I had a lovely time at the the community! Lukas, Miriam, their kids, and their animals were all very welcoming. The tasks were manageable, even for someone like me who isn't used to outdoor work. My favourite was building new garden beds! The land is beautiful and abundant, and a great place to disconnect in nature. I loved exploring the area by bike, including the nearby waterfall, river beach, and Roman ruins. It was inspiring to see what they're building here, and I can't wait to see what they're able to grow this the community into!

It was a wonderful setting for learning more about how to care for the land while respecting nature.
Lukas, Miriam, and their children, along with the other families there, created a welcoming environment where everyone could contribute in their own way. The tasks we did were varied, ranging from watering the plants to building wooden stairs and gathering resources, depending on what was needed at the moment. There are also some really nice places to visit in the area.

I absolutely loved staying here. It's definitely the place if you're looking for a nature retreat or enjoy history—for excursions Marvão is perfect and there are romantic ruins! Their land is beautiful and a total escape into the mountains, there's a waterfall and lake within biking distance. The village is adorable and all the kids and families are so sweet— i can not express the kindness of lukas and his family! Very accommodating, understanding, and caring!

My experience at the the community was much better than I expected in many ways. I felt incredibly welcomed and comfortable from the beginning. Lukas and Miriam always checked in to make sure everything was going well and if there was anything to improve. It's a great place to disconnect but also suitable if you need to keep working like I did. The tasks are planned together based on your abilities and preferences which makes everything flexible and fair. I would definitely recommend this experience. I'm also very grateful for the amazing vegan food, the conversations and the lovely moments ❤️

A beautiful place with beautiful people, truly an authentic and meaningful experience. Lukas and Melina are wonderful people who love to help and make sure you're comfortable always, for what you get the work is more than worth it, and all the work becomes so easy while being surrounded by the nature and the easy vibes of the the community. Everyone is friendly and helping each other, they also adapt the work for your own comfort and make sure you're feeling good with it. recommend this experience to anyone who is looking to disconnect and learn how possible it is to live sustainably and freely

We had a unique experience at the the community with Miriam and Lucas, who welcomed us with open arms after I asked if I could come with a friend to volunteer. Lucas picked us up at the station with his babies. After a quick shopping trip, Isi and I arrived at the the community, and the days just flew by. Showering outside eating amazing vegan food and sharing with neighbours we had an amazing time . We slept comfy with some spiders company 🤣 but harmless and part of nature . Truly thanksful for this wonderful first experience volunteering. We wish you all the best 🩷 danke für alle .

This host family experience was much more than I had hoped for. I was blown away by what Miriam and Lukas have already accomplished on their land! Yet, there is much more to do and I am so excited for their future possibilities. They are the most hospitable, hard working (yet very laid back) accepting individuals I have ever met. I loved meeting all of their friends and neighbors that they are attracting to their little the community. Prepare to work hard and play hard. Cannot wait to see how they steward their land into the future!

This experience was fantastic! My partner and I stayed for two weeks and were able to discover the work of Lukas and Miriam, the people living in their community, and their adorable dogs and cats. We slept very well in their camper van, and we always enjoyed trying new vegan recipes. We are very grateful for their kindness and open-mindedness: our work was varied, and depending on how hot the day was, we were able to share many convivial moments and visit the surroundings. Thanks to the whole community!
