Mathieu and his family are exceptionally welcoming. I spent two months with them and got to learn a lot about this project. There were many volunteers that came and left while I was staying there. I guarantee that if you're an open person you'll have a great time with everyone and build meaningful connections.

I had a great time in Sligo with Mathieu, Sandra and their children as well as the other volunteers. Mathieu is very flexible with the work and the hours that you work, so it's no problem working a 4-day week or skipping a day and making up for it another day, which means you can easily discover other parts of Ireland! The project is in an incredibly beautiful part of the country with amazing views from the house and many beautiful hikes and walks nearby. Mathieu took us surfing, to game nights and the pub where youll be able to get to know many locals. I can only recommend the project!

This stay was incredibly enriching, both in terms of discovering the local culture and learning about construction, materials, and everything that can be achieved when building a house. Mathieu and his family were very welcoming and close to us throughout our stay, always happy to suggest activities for us to do. Everything described in the listing was exactly as it was in reality. The time spent with the group was truly wonderful and very rewarding.

I would like to thank Mathieu and his family for their dedication and for giving us the opportunity to take part in this wonderful project.

I had a great stay with Mathieu. He and his family are incredibly welcoming, kind, and always willing to help. The working hours are flexible and reasonable, which gives you plenty of freedom. Unfortunately, we left early because there were no native English-speaking volunteers, so I couldn't practise as much as I'd hoped. However, Mathieu was very understanding and did his best to help me speak as much English as possible. I highly recommend this stay.

If you love nature, working with the earth, DIY, kindness, sharing, and learning, the community will be a true haven of peace for you. Although there are sometimes water cuts, this takes nothing away from the kindness and joy of Mathieu, Sandra, and their children. It takes nothing away from the beauty of the landscapes, and finally, it takes nothing away from the immense pleasure I had during this month in Sligo. I highly recommend it ! A huge thank you to Mathieu and the whole family for your incredibly warm welcome !

My wife and I stayed at the community for about 6 weeks. We got to see Dublin, Doolin, the Aran Islands, Moher, and almost everything there is to see in Sligo. If you're committed to getting around, this is a great place to be to see Ireland. The accommodation itself is in need of improvement as there are issues with mold and pests, as well as lack of water. Not to mention the space is quite small. Mathieu and Sandra are very welcoming hosts. They make it abundantly clear that they care how you feel. The work itself is hard but rewarding.

My volunteering experience in Sligo, Ireland, was amazing. I helped build an the community-friendly house and learned a lot while working with a great team. At first, I felt a little lonely, but after a few days I got to know everyone and really enjoyed my stay. I was sad to leave. Meeting people from different countries made this experience unforgettable. Mathieu is an amazing host who makes everyone feel welcome. We visited pubs, played board games, went surfing, and had a great time together. I highly recommend this experience.

It was a wonderful month staying at the community🧡 Matthew a and his family were always super welcoming and kind, offering solutions to any kind of problem, taking us surfing or swimming (almost) in the waterfalls. I met wonderful people and even though the house is quite isolated, you'd never feel lonely. The work was physically hard so at the end of my stay i felt pretty exhausted. But that's what i expected and felt proud for pushing my limits and learning new skills☺️ Great first worldpackers experience. Thank you for having me!

I planned on being here for a month and left early because Mathieu and his family left for a week the day after my arrival. We still worked, and the work did not feel like an equivalent exchange for the accommodations offered. We ran out of food during the week he left, there was often no running water at all, we had no instruction on our tasks, and no transportation, other than bikes that needed to be fixed (30 min ride to town) I came to learn about building with cob from an expert but found myself learning more from Youtube videos. Hosts were respectful but could've improved communication.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortun, you left after 4 work days, and we couldn't make it up when we returned from 6 days away. We're sorry you missed the full experience. To be fair, during our absence I left clear instructions via the group chat that there would be little work to do—safety first. I've heard from other volunteers you barely worked during this time. You clearly stated you felt homesick, and we don't hold that against you. Hope you had a better time on your own. Kind regards.
