StudyGarden is an oasis of learning, positive engagement, and hospitality! I would recommend to everyone - the communication was excellent and the team running the school is very welcoming. Hours are flexible and minimal, and assinged at the start of each week so everything is very clear! Tsuru, while calm, is a great place to experience authentic Japanese culture, and I greatly miss working with the children and adults of the city! I really loved my stay, the people I met here and I'm so grateful to having gotten this opportunity. The host (Fumi San) was also super friendly and always made sure everything is okay and whenever something was missing, immediately took care of it. I'm also grateful to having got the chance to interact in Japanese and the job really made me realize how much I enjoy working with kids. The location is also practical, you can get all your supplies from your surroundings and in your free time, there's so many spots nearby to travel to. Overall an unforgettable experience. ありがとうございました！

My 5 weeks at the school was fantastic. Fumi-san was so lovely and caring for my entire experience. The beds were comfortable, good bedding was provided, kitchen was equipped with 4 hobs and 2 fridges, lots of space to socialise and also be alone, lovely balcony overlooking the local lush green mountains, amazing walks nearby in Kofu area and Kawaguchiko area. I made some amazing connections with the other travellers and had a really good time. Getting to Tokyo costs ≈ ¥3500 there and back, so keep in mind in case you intend to visit Tokyo regularly. I loved staying at the school! Fumi-San was very welcoming and kind. I loved teaching the kids and had a great time meeting and socializing with the other volunteers! I feel extremely lucky and grateful that this was my first worldpackers experience!
It was an amazing time, the children were kind and entertaining. I had a wonderful time being able to help them learn and practice their English skills.

The school was my first volunteer experience and I couldn't have asked for more, I felt so welcome by everyone from the moment I stepped in the door. Fumisan was incredibly generous and showed us kindness I'll never forget, I'm so grateful to have met her. The other volunteers were such wonderful people who have truly become new friends, we made some amazing memories together. Spending time with the lovely kids and helping them improve their English was an experience I'll never forget, we had so much fun in the classes! I truly recommend this experience, I'll carry it with me always :)

I highly highly recommend the school! It's a great opportunity to teach English to local kids (and even some local adult learners). The accommodations were very comfortable, and the other volunteers were a pleasure to be around. Fumisan and Kenta were great hosts, very welcoming and responsive to any requests. The work schedule is filled out on Monday for the week, so you know ahead of time when you will be working. Weekends are free to do whatever you'd like. I had a blast volunteering here and would definitely love to volunteer again here in the future!

Volunteering here had been a lovely time. Fumi-san is a lovely person, and the kids were rather funny.
Helping the rowdy (or sometimes super quiet) kids improve their English was a fun and interesting experience. The living area is quite large, and the other volunteers I got to meet here were lovely too! I'll miss them, and the movie nights as well.
Altogether, lovely experience, could easily recommend! I'll be sure to come back someday!

I had an amazing experience volunteering here! I really enjoyed my time and had so much fun. I met people from all over the world and had the opportunity to share many great moments with them. The children are absolutely hilarious, adorable, and full of energy! Spending time with them was definitely one of the best parts of the experience. And of course, Fumisan deserves a special mention. She is kind, welcoming, helpful, and always made me feel comfortable. I'm very happy I chose this experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and meaningful experience!🇯🇵❤️
