My stay at the hotel was very enriching; I learned a lot about their ways of working. The place is incredible, and on your days off, you can go to London, which is only 1 hour away.
Likewise, your tasks will mainly involve cleaning the common areas of the house, checking guests in and out, and helping with whatever they need! Also, joining the yoga classes is an opportunity that no volunteer should miss!

The hotel is an amazing place to volunteer, I would recommend to everyone that is looking for a comfortable space close to London, where you can do your own things while help in the day to day of the Hotel.

It was very nice to stay at the River Arts Club. The river view is lovely and there is paddle boarding and kayaking available for free. Maidenhead is a beautiful town and is 1h 30 mins from London. The tasks were simple, setting up breakfast, doing reception, and light cleaning. The schedule is very flexible and you may end up working less if it’s not busy. As well, altogether the volunteers get £30 to share for groceries weekly. Latifa was a wonderful manager and ran everything well, and was really helpful to the volunteers! I would recommend this place to everyone.

Our volunteering began positively but declined under new manager Tara. We were repeatedly scolded, belittled and spoken to condescendingly, often made to feel inferior. Concerns were met with defensiveness and personal remarks. It felt less like cultural exchange and more like being expected to obey without question. Minor issues were exaggerated into claims that we cost the hotel money. Dishonesty also undermined trust. When we raised concerns, Tara said, “That's on you. I don't care what you want. What I want is for you to leave in three days.” This confirmed we were unwelcome, and we left.

My partner and I stayed at the River Arts Club for almost 3 months, and it was a truly great experience. The location is absolutely beautiful the hotel is right by the hotel, in a quiet and peaceful area
We helped with breakfast service, reception, customer service, and cleaning.
The staff and management were very friendly and welcoming from the start.
We’re really grateful for our time at River Arts Club and totally recommend this experience to other volunteers. Special Thank you for Yumi and Angelika!

My time at the hotel was incredible. The property is absolutely gorgeous, a historic house right on the Thames, surrounded by nature and beautiful walking trails. The grounds are stunning, and every day felt peaceful and inspiring. Angelika, Yumi, and Helle were so kind and made the experience unforgettable. Yumi is a brilliant manager! She is kind, patient, and always supportive, which made the work smooth and enjoyable. The tasks were fun, with plenty of interaction with guests from around the world in such a rich, vibrant, and creative setting. I'd return in a heartbeat!

I truly loved every minute of this volunteer experience. Angelika and her family are absolutely lovely, and I was surprised by how much it felt like home. The tasks didn't even feel like tasks because I was just taking care of the most adorable little creature in the world: Cooper. I would recommend this to anyone: they'll make you feel completely welcome. And Angelika is one of the most charming and wonderful people you could ever meet. Their home is located in a peaceful and beautiful area, perfect for walks, and it's close to metro stations. You even get your own room, I honestly don't thi

I had an amazing experience at the hotel in Maidenhead! The staff are incredible—kind, supportive, and made me feel at home. Special thanks to Angelika, Helena, and Yumi; I'll miss you so much! The location is stunning, right on the hotel Thames with breathtaking views and a tranquil atmosphere. Despite the peaceful setting, it's well-connected to London, and the Maidenhead area is surrounded by beautiful nature. A highlight was Cooper, the affectionate Golden Retriever, who made my stay even better. Highly recommend this place for an unforgettable, enriching experience!
