I'm so sad to leave the hostel! i've had an amazing time here, and i can't recommend it enough. if you're someone that likes to party and meet people, it's the place for you! i've met truly lifelong friends in my month here, and i had so much fun talking to customers during my shifts. it's been such a fantastic experience for me and i cannot recommend more!!

María the hostel is the medicine you didn't know your soul needed. Vladimir is the chillest person on earth. The entire hostel had this holistic energy but not in a lame way, in the way where there's a freaking owl and two parrots that live in the bar. You'll be working a 2 minute walk from the beach. I usually would go take a dip before my shift. I volunteered for two months, so I saw several rounds of volunteers coming and going. Everyone was always very friendly and willing to get to know each other. Palomino kind of fosters that energy for you without having to do anything. It's very cool.

My first volunteering experience was amazing, Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming , and they made me feel comfortable from day one . I met so many international travelers and had the chance to make new friends it's really easy here! This is a great place if you're looking for a social experience especially if you enjoy going out and partying . The tasks were always clear organized and flexible , and the agreed schedule was respected . bring a good mosquito repellent and keep in mind that lunch is always the same every day , which in my opinion could be improved

Maria mulata was my first volunteer experience and I will forever miss it. Everyone working at Maria were friendly understanding and welcoming. The beautiful community, nature and calm vibes of palomino taught me so much. I came to Colombia without knowing Spanish and thanks to all the friends I’ve made that have helped me I’ve learned quickly :)) Maria was vary respectful of work hours and days off. The cafe is truly magical as it is filled with animals, like an owl, parrots, possums, and lizards, as well as a beautiful garden and fun dancing at night.

Working at the hostel was a fun time! I got to meet and visit with many travellers from all over the world, as well as locals. The bar staff were very friendly and made me feel like I was a part of a little family. I got the opportunity to practice some Spanish. Vlad is easy to get along with, and flexible with giving days off (you get to choose which you want off). He was supportive when I got sick for a few days and missed shifts, as well as when I needed to leave a little bit earlier than expected. Would recommend this World Packers to anyone social and who likes to talk with others!

Very disappointing experience. I received almost no support and arrived with very little information. The place was dirty, poorly maintained, and full of mosquitoes due to stagnant water. 8 volunteers contracted dengue in less than a month, including me. When I became seriously ill, nobody offered any help and I felt completely abandoned. No fumigation was done, and we shared one shower between two dorms. Volunteers were also initially placed directly above the noisy bar despite beds being available in quieter dorms. I strongly do not recommend volunteering here.

Nice hostel and place to stay as a guest, very close to the beach and lots of nice places to eat. Would maybe be a nice place to volunteer in other roles but if you apply for the dj role be aware you are not allowed to play any of your own music it has all been pre picked for you. I was very disappointed after preparing my usb with requested genres from the host and flying from ENGLAND to Colombia to Dj hoping to build my portfolio for bigger future gigs only to find out when I arrive I can’t even play my music. I don’t believe he intended to put me in a bad situation but he did

The hostel was a good experience, especially because you meet a lot of other travellers! the volunteers house is comfortable, just the water quality is really bad… the work is super chill, a lot of the time you don't have any work and can chat to the other volunteers or workes, but sometimes it makes it feel like the shift is long and a waste of time. also i would have appreciated a little explanation of what i'll have to do in the beggining, ibut the other volunteers helped me out. you can choose your free days and they were super understanding when i was sick.
