I had a great time! The work was fair, varied and flexible, from reception and cleaning cabins/sauna to helping with catering events. I learned a lot about Sami culture, felt very welcomed, and had plenty of free time and opportunities to meet people. I stayed in a cozy private cabin with a shared bathroom.

Some notes to be mindful of: You need to be proactive and find ways to help. You also cook for yourself: breakfast ingredients are provided, though this could be better organized...

Overall, a great experience. I got what I was hoping for!

What makes the experience are the owners. Elisabeth and Henriette respect the working hours agreed with volunteers, provide the ingredients for an excellent breakfast, and are kind and helpful. The workload is fair and stays within the agreed time, and there's a proper balance between the hours worked alongside the other volunteers and the time spent relaxing together. Twice a week, Henriette welcomed us into lavvu, her Sami tent, where we lit a fire and listened to her stories of Sami culture and traditions. Sitting around the fire while she spoke was both moving and fascinating

I'd had an amazing stay in the camping. People are super friendly and you'll learn a lot about the Sami culture. If you have specific wishes about the shifts, just let Gunn Elisabeth know and she'll handle that. It's a very calm place, but if you know how to keep yourself busy, it won't be a problem.

I had a wonderful time in the camping. I especially enjoyed the peace and quiet here, as well as the lower temperature compared to Central Europe. Elizabeth and Henrietta are great hosts and I felt very welcome here. You can also learn about Sami culture in cultural evening events at the camping as well as in local museums. I enjoyed the work in my freetime I did some hikes, went to sauna and swam in the small lake and also took a trip to North Cape with another Volunteer.

I had a great time, met wonderful people, enjoyed the peace and quiet of Norway and its nature, learned more about Sami culture, and worked according to what we had previously agreed. No complaints, totally recommend some peaceful time in the North.

I have a wonderful experience here in the camping. Gunn Elizabeth welcomes everyone and makes them feel at home. The work hours are pretty flexible and fair. While it's not the prettiest part of Norway, it's possible to go to the coast on your off days. I will miss this place and definitely recommend coming here!

There's a long list of things I wanna say but here are the highlights. Gunn Elizabeth was a wonderful host. One of the nicest people I've encountered so far in my journey. She is genuine, friendly, and compassionate. The stay in the camping Norway was almost just as wonderful. There's so much culture there and the people are very friendly and very passionate about their Sami culture. Truly, if you have the chance go to the camping, help Gunn with her family's cabin and cafe and see some real, true, and old culture. Hike the hills, see the sights, and experience true beauty of Norway county side

I had a really good experience volunteering here! Elisabeth and her sister are very sweet and attentive, the work is very reasonable and they are very open to helping out if needed. Depending on the period you go it can be a little empty and slow but it's still a great place to relax, slow down and explore the beautiful area.

My volunteer experience in the camping was short but truly wonderful. I felt welcomed from the very beginning.
The town itself is quite small, but you can feel the culture and traditions of the Sami community. If you are lucky you can enjoy the northern lights.
Unfortunately, I had to leave earlier than planned due to personal reasons, which I deeply regret.
The tasks are easy and the numbers of hours are respected.
If I ever pass through the region again, I will definitely come back to visit. I recommend this experience to anyone loving nature and calm!

I loved my three week stay at the camping & the camping. Gunn and Henriette are super nice! The work is quite flexible and own suggestions and proactive engagement are approved. My main tasks were some cleaning, creation of videos and photos for the motel's social media account, and support in sustainability work. It can be a bit lonesome in the winter time, but when you know how to keep yourself busy, that's no problem!
